I lurked the IRC channel a while back, helped with the Wiki, and put forth some input when you guys had just announced the project on /a/. You had 3 pieces of music, one being a title jingle, and were working on the RBY color scheme, throwing around ideas on how each color will be Yandere, Tsundere and Kuudere, or something of the sort.

I stopped lurking a little while ago, a couple weeks after I first joined, due to life taking a metaphorical shit on me, and haven't been back since.

Just make the known Touhou characters NPCs. You should be able to create your own original Touhou (do not steal. )

You'd have basic classes like Human/Ghost/Deity/Fairy/subcategories of youkai like Youkai (Beast)/Youkai (Object)/Youkai (Apparition)/Youkai (Magician)/Youkai (Demon) and so on, and a set of basic abilities.

Mostly because I can't do art that's worth anything.

I am however sort of a decent programmer I guess, and I have made different variations of different engines for different purposes, that would work if I were to make some sort of game or thing.
But not being able to make it graphically appealing, or even to not being able to make them not graphically appalling.
Otherwise things works fine, and I can even compose decent music, although I would accept someone elses music as well if it's better/is more suitable, but that's not really an issue as I deem my own to at least be decent enough.
But the graphic is no good at the moment.


And other than that?
I am a huge NEET and college drop out with strong hikkikomori tendencies.
I was studying computer languages and math and all that sort of thing, but I dropped out due to not attending enough classes, and my education wasn't rezognized as "proper" because of it.

And while I find it really hard to do things with other people, or even to show myself in public or have encounters with strangers or people I am not extremely comfortable with, I still find it very hard to give up on my education entirely.
I was really close actually, and I learned a lot about things, and it sucks if those years were to mean nothing even so.

So whenever I find enough courage to try to do some project, I get all these thoughts about trying to give education another go, but things aren't really always that easy..
Sort of depressing actually, really much so in truth.

That is well within my capabilties, have actually done it before, only without real graphics and other material.
Patterns like that can be dealt with using some simple yet fancy mathematical loops, and with the right code to support it that should be it.

Also keep in mind how game design and writing the code are different things. That may be obvious, but I can of course code the patterns, but if they are to be my own design I can't gaurantee anyone would like them if didn't redo/refine them a few hundered times over. But that is a given I guess.

Sadly, I am not sure I feel I have the necessary energy for a project at the moment, perhaps.
What I really want is to get my shit straight, I am dead tired of this neet life. But I do all kinds of unnecessary shit anyway, so I don't know. I guess I need to find the strength to get shit straight first, likewise I would need to find the strength do work on a project, but I guess I project might be easier.
Then again, I guess I might be a fickle person at my current mental state, so I might perhaps not be that reliable or anything. I might do things at my own pace, perhaps dropping and picking things up out of the blue.
But I do work on things from time to time.

I made a VN as part of a creative assignment in the 12th grade. ~40K words, full sprite work and public domain music.

That said, it was utter garbage and I only got 2/3 of the work done. In the end I just submitted it and asked for it to be graded on its creative basis. Pity the effort was detrimental to my final grade because the assignment was formative and it took a lot of time away from my (far more boring) summative assesments.
Still, I got an A+. But that's to be expected when everyone else's idea of "creative" is to write an essay.

Honestly I blame myself for starting a danmaku project only to realize that the main coder hates coding patterns, even if he's a goddamned awesome coder. Hopefully when we finish the first tech demo with the VN parts we can find someone to help us out with that.

Just for the record, anyone here who has made some patterns using SDL/SFML? Just curious on how hard is it.
