It's actually a kind of conceited concept, from my understanding. When you love yourself, you like the traits you exhibit, and you're able to like other people when you see traits you have in them.

If you dislike yourself, you hate most qualities about you, and anyone similar to you inevitably has some of those qualities... and then... so ronery ;_;

I know what you mean. Few years ago when I was hugged the last time, it was my smelly grandma. So it did not feel good. I wish I was hugged by Saten. Hurts when I know that it will never happen.
