Discussion about Sen-ka's reactions kinda has me curious. How do you guys feel about all the Ep7/Yasu stuff?

I'm weirdly more okay with it than I thought I'd be.

Frankly I don't understand the hatred for sen_ka just because of that doujin. Sure it had the wrong charactirisation and had the charactirisation that she wanted but so what? Other doujinshi artists do that aswell with the characters such as making Bern less of a cruel witch and actually caring for Erika (as an example in the "PUNISH ME PUNISH ME PLEASE" doujin) its a common thing in fancomics (which is what doujinshi are)

Episodes 1-6 are novels, written by Yasu herself before the conference and Featherine based on Yasu's letters. Kanon and Shannon appear as different characters because they were written that way, but are never together because Yasu was supposed to "play/act" both of them.

Yasu's situation was completely hopeless, for whatever reason. The game doesn't outright tell you why, but it's very clear on that in particular.

Will felt terrible for her and died to save a part of her heart. Bern mocks her dark, hopeless situation. Lion tries his utmost to live for her sake even after being shot in the chest. Battler cried and screamed for her once he found out the truth. If you tried to live her life two hundred million times, she would still die a miserable death.

The emphasis, time and time again, is on her being someone with absolutely no hope.

That's her motivation.

As someone with DID, let me tell you that's impossible and that Yasu herself probably didn't realize the situation for a lot of time.

I don't think you're understanding the context of Will's investigation and what he was trying to accomplish. You remember the mystery Bern set out for him to solve, right? It wasn't "solve the Rokkenjima murders." It was "who killed Beatrice?" Will goes on a spiel after he puts together Lion's role in the clusterfuck about how "only the person who created Beatrice can kill her", and moves on from there. Will never even tried to touch on the actual Rokkenjima murders. Lion and Will discuss Lion not being able to understand Beatrice's role in "the incident", but something to keep in mind is that Lion is very anguished and upset about how he is sure that he will never, ever be able to understand how his alternate self could get involved in something that repeatedly kills his family and friends - but by the end, after understanding her, even Lion accepts and wants to protect Beatrice.

Will's objective is why his answers during the end of the main story are so frustratingly vague: he asks Clair if it's all right if all he does is "stop her heart", and Clair assents. In other words, it's enough for Will to dispel the illusion of the witch without touching on what it is she's covering up--the "guts" that Bern is so obsessed with ripping out. It's also pretty clear in the Tea Party that Will doesn't really have anything to say about "the truth of the murders", otherwise, fighting Bern shouldn't have been a problem at all for him.

The mystery Will set about solving was not "what is the truth behind the Rokkenjima murders", it is "who killed Beatrice?" Will explains the answer to this question as: "Only the person who created Beatrice can kill her", and the Yasu backstory takes off from there. The Yasu backstory is not supposed to tell us "oh bawww, this is how someone was driven to slaughter the Ushiromiyas", it is Beatrice's origin story to go along with how Will frames the situation.

Lion expresses anguish over not being able to understand how his alternate self could become involved in such a terrible incident that was the "repeated" deaths of his friends and family - in other words, Beatrice's catbox that enables those fictional brutal murders to occur over and over. Bern's reaction in the Tea Party is consistent. She brutally mocks Beatrice's motive, all right - her motive as far as trying to nobly cover up the brutal truth with the fictional message bottles.

No. That's something you made up all on your own. Will and Lion set out to solve "who killed Beatrice" - the same question of "who created Beatrice" - and her role in creating the endless cycle of fictional murders is touched upon. If you want to talk about what's made clear, it's also made clear that Will doesn't really have anything to say about the truth behind the Rokkenjima killings. It's not what he cares about and if he had pinned down everything about that, fighting Bern's truth wouldn't have been a problem for him.

The only reason Will didn't talk about the 2 years, and you can find the reason why Yasu started the roulette there, was simply because everything has been told in the previous episodes.

Will, uh, actually specifically discusses this when Lion is asking him about it. He specifies that the Beatrice they're trying to solve IS "the Beatrice of 1986", Lion's alternate self. So yes, it is pretty much the Beatrice created by Yasu. The rest - the past Beatrices, the legend, etc - are just key to understanding aspects of Yasu.
