Back when computers ran on toasters having a wallpaper would decrease your performance.

I still never grew out of that habit, so no wallpaper for me. Don't use those themes/Aero things that use more CPU either.

I put a couple of the random desktop icons into random folder, but still can't be arsed to bother with the rest despite me only using 3 of the things on my desktop and the random folder being right there for convenience.
