As of now, this new system is still in beta. Please keep this in mind. At this moment, it is only possible to upload mp3 files and songs won't be requested automatically. We can switch to the old system anytime if something goes wrong.

Anyway, please give feedback over this new system. Post any error messages you get, post opinions, suggestions, whatever.
Main server holds 5 users. There are a number of relay servers up that automatically redirect you when the main server is full, so don't worry.

Point out any problems you have with V2. It's still being worked on, and if there are any major problems we'll just switch to the old version.

Anyone notice that the timer on the queue page is off sometimes? Not always, but occasionally it will hop to the next song and start counting down before the original song has ended, by like 20+ seconds or so.

It can be slow in some places. I trippled the buffers so I don't get annoyed by buffering pauses. Buffering during /jp/ stream is like nails on a blackboard. Increasing the buffers solves the problem, but oh no it's not REAL TIME anymore. I get to be 25 seconds behind everyone else ;_; .

As for expensive? Get a better country. I'm in Australia, a decidedly shit country, and I pay $27.50 for a gigabyte (TPG, for any Ausfags). An hour run = 57MB = $1.56, which is pretty damn good for mobile data. At home and at uni I have wifi, so no mobile data for that.

Also, last time I went running, some delicious medley was playing, followed by that 58 minute hardcore. It was the best run of my life. I'd love to go for a run when Clumsy Moe's mixing, but it will be daytime here, and I don't run in the day time because people will see me. .

Why would you do that?

Remember, you can still request/upload songs for Moe to play in the mix. Just mediafire/megafaggot/whatever your song and I'll notify Moe about it. In the next hour, he's gonna play 160 BPM songs, so make sure your songs are about the same.

Do NOT upload the songs on my server. Moe won't be able to download it from there.

I've got a suggestion to Pyonta-kun. So uhh, when you upload an .mp3 file it asks you to enter artist, track name and album, it uses the tags of mp3 file when you search for it tho and take the artist, track name and album as the filename (the track name only to be exact). So, can you make it take the original file name without asking for artist, track name and album since it takes the .mp3 file tags to the database anyway?

Afaik, PHP can't save Japanese chars. That's why I decided it will rename them as <artist> - <title>.mp3 and gotta make sure the tags don't contain Japanese chars. It already copies the tags for convenience. Soon, I'll make sure I can also write the tags so I can get rid of Japanese chars entirely as SAM doesn't like them either.

There are 2 problems I have to deal with:

1. my php webpages are unable to save Japanese characters (I can give you technical info if you want)
2. SAM is unable to read Japanese filenames and/or tags properly.

Problem 1 can be solved in 2 ways: either force the uploader to not upload a filename that contains Japanese characters (which is annoying for you guys) or think of a system to rename the files in a non-Japanese char way. I could just rename them as a number, but that would be silly. Therefor, I thought of the fact that I can rename them as <artist> - <title>.mp3. In order to get these values, the php page reads the tags and tries to get the artist and title from these tags so it can rename the filename. However, if the tags contain Japanese chars, this system will still fail (can't save Japanese chars in filenames, remember). Still, I understand the frustration of renaming a filename so I figured this system takes less effort. When the tags are filled, the php page attempt to save the file as the tags say. I save the file using a script, then php checks if the file exists. If this fails, then the file is saved in Japanese (or other invalid) chars.

You are right though. If you would upload a file with latin chars, there shouldn't be a problem. However, those Japanese chars are. This brings me to the second problem. SAM is just unable to read Japanese chars properly. It'll either replace them with ???????? or weird chars (カメリア！～Dangerous Camellia Vacation～.mp3). (stopped writing here for a bit and lost my train of thought)
So uhm, problem 2 is also solved with the method mentioned at problem 1. Hope I clarified a bit of what is going on behind the scenes. Let me know if I you got anymore questions (or if I dodged your question). If you got a better idea to fix these problems, let me know.

Is that really a big problem? From my experience, whenever you upload something it asks for you to rename it - and even if you ignore it, it still renames the track in the end. There may be some people using non-alphanumeric characters there, though, which might be messing some things up.

As for tags, an apparently guaranteed method of having them work 100% is by saving them (again, if needed) as ID3v2.4 tags (ONLY) with Mp3tag (which means you need to delete ID3v1 tags if they're present, but as I'm not sure of how to do that with Mp3tag, you can use your player). Everything I saved this way worked perfectly.

Out of curiosity, how good was the sound quality at the venue? Did the they do a good job of setting up or just turn all the knobs to "max" and walk away?

I swore off live performances for a long time because it seemed like no one local could do a goddamned proper sound check. Everything would be all distorted and sounded HORRENDOUS, speakers were crackling and dropping out, feedback, not to mention hearing damage level noise where you could shout at the top of your lungs at the person next to you and they'd be none the wiser.

My rage was at maximum levels. It's like the performers didn't even care.
