If you go to just about any AT community where you can see names, the ratio of people that dislike Luca to those that like her are still basically 4 to 1.

I didn't really start disliking Luca until my second playthrough. Prior to that, I disliked her stealing the spotlight from Cloche on the regular basis and didn't find her particularly endearing otherwise (upbeat girl is normally one of my favorite archetypes, but Luca is pretty boring when she's not being a bitch; Skycat and Cynthia are much more likable), but ultimately, meh. This time around, she seems twice as petty.

And Cloche wouldn't be Cloche anymore if you got rid of her royal attitude. That's a bad thing.

Also, boobs are good, faggots. Bigger the better. Well, there's too big, like with Eiken and that one supposedly horrible show with the brown girl, but artists rarely reach that size.

Been a regular on /a/ since 2006, and I still say that the DFC/lolicon bullshit is the tumor.

Her tsuntsun-ness is really toned down after you meet Sasha. She's pretty nice after that. Just forceful and blunt, which is a large part of her skits tend to be entertaining.

It's a pity AT2 is a couple games down in my replay list, since I'm really interested to see the other side of that coin (having done Cloche -> Mother first). I'm pretty sure it's impossible for most of us to not love Infel, though; she's a classical tsundere, a shameless punster, a ridiculously intelligent orphan who got noticed and given the best research environment ever, and would rather spend most of her days in the lab than socializing with people, but will do anything for her waifu. pack. This resulted in games not starting.
I managed to fix it simply by downloading and installing PCSX2 0.9.7 beta full installer from the site - everything seems to work perfectly now.

I've got a handful of games on the PS3 to play, another handful to play on the Xbox and I still need to catch up with some VN's like Saya, Sharin etc.. This is while trying to fit in time to play my regular games like L4D etc. and trying to keep up with new releases. It doesn't help that Rorona is coming out soon either. About 20 hours for one playthrough, faster if you only do the barebones to advance the plot.
Need to replay each game at least twice AFTER a certain mark/save to see most of the content(path choice is yo uwill, usually around 7-10 hours).

Eh, I didn't really grind much at all (though I do tend to be pretty OCD about finding every single chest and whatnot, and I don't typically run from random battles ever, so I may have gotten fairly high leveled just because of that) and by the end of both AT1 and AT2 I was annoyed that I kept accidentally killing the bosses with regular attacks before my song magic had finished charging. The setting is very detailed and intricate and expands with each game. There has been great amount of work( a language being created specifically for the games songs). That ties in with the amazing OSTs of the games, especially the vocals.
Also, especially AT2 has one of the best Heroines ever.
If you cannot devote more that 15-20 hours, play AT2, and pick the best heroine(it will be obvious)

Keep in mind that the main reason to play these games is not the simplistic battle system (which is just as easy as most modern RPGs, sadly) but the music, story and character interaction that occurs during the game. Casually playing I still managed to spend ~25 hours or more playing AT1 alone even though the battles were a cakewalk. Throw in an extra few hours for doing Aurica's route too and other general side stuff like getting the battle loli. AT2 is about the same in regards to how long it takes. I've enjoyed every minute of it and I still listen to the hymmnos albums every day. Your loss if you don't try, really.

I'm back, 4 hours in.
First... Half an hour? Forty-five minutes? were bland as fuck, but then it started picking up and doesn't show any signs of slowing. Music IS indeed great. Art is nice, too bad not all environments are as great as Firefly Alley.
Easy battles are a plus for me(though they are REALLY easy so far). Story is kinda non-existent so far, but setting and characters make up for it.
All in all it doesn't seem I'm going to get much sleep tonight.

Personally, I thought AT2 was more riveting than AT1. There arent too many dull moments. AT1 sometimes feels boring because the tower climbing is sometimes long, everything looks the same, and you have to do it a bunch.

There isn't a whole lot of that. You basically get locked into a heroine's ending if you do her level 8 Cosmosphere and accept her confession. I think there's also something that happens if you get all three of the hearts next to their portrait (as in an event or a CG or something like that), and doing that might lock you into their ending. At the time, when they had the tech to build the towers and come up with the basis to restore Ar Ciel, they pretty much declared impossible to cut an origin from her tower, so they'd need better tech to cut Tilia from the third tower and move her memory somewhere else, like Beta's address as any other purebreed.
Infel could probably come up with something since she easily stole 3rd gens from Ar Tonelico into Infel Phira, but Infel is dead and formatted and most of her resarch fell into the sea of death, Tenba uses its own tech and doesn't get a thing about Wave Science, Teru treats it as magic and Arkya's labs have been focusing on Reyvatoids and control, so no good there.
Maybe, just maybe, there could be something in the cosmospheres' resarch did around Mule's time, but only she knows.
In the end, I think both Tilia and Saki are pretty much fucked unless they retcon with some DLC, some kind of afterstory for Tilia where you travel to other towers and have a chat with the old cast while searching for clues.

There's just something hilarious about LOVE!!!!!, and EP=NOVA is all about CHOU☆RON☆GU~ and that fiddle bit that goes into Shikata's rapid-fire singing. So much fun. A method of psychological torture used, if I remember correctly, by Nazis.
They would catch someone who they suspected of collaborating with jews, or being an enemy of the state in any other way, and torture him in the worst ways possible for a few days. If that didn't break him, one day they come to his cell apologizing and saying that there was a mistake, and that he would be freed after paperwork was done. So they start taking care of the prisoner, give him good food, medical care etc - and then, once the prisoner regains hope and thinks he's saved, they suddenly throw him back in jail and start tortures again.
And this is the kind of thing that Lyner did to Misha. Only difference is, she wasn't imprisoned for a few days, but for twelve years.
The casual manner the other characters treated that was sickening as well. "it's a job" my ass.
Now I don't know if I even want to go for Misha's ending anymore.

And seeking alternate solution wasn't even a part of his decision - it was simple "I want Shurelia to live even if it means Misha is going to suffer"
But it's not even about WHAT he did, it's the way he did it.
He didn't even fucking hesitate for a split second before choosing Shurelia over Misha. I still say Shurelia's duties were fucking easy compared to Misha's, and it's not like she lived a short life either. There's also the question of, you know, completely rejecting Shurelia's sacrifice.

The worst thing was, it was perfectly shown how hurt Misha was - it seemed like she realized that the extent of his feelings towards her is nowhere near hers towards him. It damn near broke my heart.
(disclaimer: I only care so much because I like the game, and I know it will be resolved differently. But it doesn't change how the situation looked to me)
