It requires a lot of specific actions, similar to some visual novels. Look up the list of requirements on a Gamefaqs walkthrough (one of the few things it's good for).
Off the top of my head, I remember it requires you sending specific story-related characters up before a certain point as well as recruiting specific story-related characters and doing specific dungeons before a certain point. It also involves getting your Faith (or whatever your obediance-to-Odin number is called) down but not so low that you piss off Odin and Freya too early.
Overall, it's really not something you'll "end up" doing on accident or whatever unless you somehow figure out the "real" story from the beginning.

Nah. It's really easy to do if you don't mind your Eval being low and Odin not getting any good items between chapters. Just don't send people up other than Lucian and your Seal will fall to where it needs to be. Plot events and recruiting Einherjar lower Seal. Sending Einherjar to Valhalla is really the only thing that majorly raises it. Keeping your Eval up and Seal down may require an FAQ, but it's still pretty easy and obvious once you understand how shit works. Basically

Don't do plot events until chapter 4/5 (I forget which).

You're going to be fucked in the end then. There's a nasty boss that is almost impossible without Ansel's plume abilities. Those carry over on NG+s, and you need to get all three major endings to unlock the SG so the best strategy is to plume the fuck of every useless character on the first run and then blitz the game on the next ones. It's a really short game anyway.

I liked the second a lot. Guess others here don't feel the same.

The DS game has one serious flaw: using the plume is virtually mandatory to win certain battles while still collecting enough sin, yet using the plume even once both ruins the best end and feels bad man cause you gotta kill your buddies. I understand that you can do New game+ though and keep all the abilities you gain from using the plume so maybe it's not too bad.

Yeah, it's unforgiving but not too hard. I'd probably put it similar to like Fire Emblem or so. Sometimes I was surprised at how stupid the AI was. Like that one early mission where you have to defend the saint, they could have easily murdered her in another round, but instead the one just bugged or something and went back and forth between two spots while I ran around and got the items on the ground. They also silenced her, which stopped her from attacking them and killing herself (like she had done the last two tries)

Hrist is so completely superior to everyone else even Freya. I hope the next game is about her and her alone. No more of that faggot Lezard.

Glitched for one. The dragon (Bloodbane I think?) has its Hard difficulty stats hardcoded on instead of variable by diffiulty, so if you're on Easy (don't have access to the strong set of items) you could be totally fucked. Otherwise, it's just a dungeon in Niflheim with the same wolf and dragon boss, then you fight Surt. Freya thanks you and puts you back to sleep.
