GGs E-Man! Did you get a lot better since the last time we fought or am I just really out of practice? Anyway, those Yukari vs Sanae matches were really fun, I enjoyed some of the Yukari mirrors as well. I don't really understand how the projectile parasol spin 623 works, though, which tripped me up a lot when you first brought it out. Also apparently Flesh Dismantler can be used to get around predicted Yukari 66Cs, that's pretty neat (but useless to me because I'm bad at this game and can't predict, and the times where I used it to counter your 66Cs were probably luck). Also the Reisen vs Patchy matches were interesting, if not a bit tiring. Shame I'm not that great at Reisen, and also kept dashing into gears for some reason. Ah well.

By the way, what does the Kanakopillars alt do? You only hit me with it like once.

GGs Lurk

There's the Yukari beasting I remember! Although I feel I fared better than ever against her now, I'm still having trouble getting inside without letting you get too close and corner-rape me. Also, still can't see how you're able to go unpunished completely after your j2a, while my j2a are totally unsafe unless I special cancel. Fun matches as always! Thanks for the matches.

>> No.5479113

>>5479090
j.2a is pretty tricky to use tbh. Maybe you're just blocking it wrong letting me escape unpunished when I use it? Iunno. I only use j.2a when I expect my opponent to try and graze whatever I'm doing, so eh. Though it's also pretty good in conjunction with Bewitching Bait.

Speaking of Bewitching Bait, those mirrors were the first time I saw somebody use it against me in ages. Felt kind of odd. To be honest I think I've always taken that skill for granted because I've rarely actually had to go against it.

Pillars are just a gimmick, like Tenshi's pillars, only wider hitbox and no protection from projectiles. It's suppose to be apart of my headstomp arsenal just like alt22C, but I kept accidentally opting for j2C and eating parasols for my actions. Alt623 was an experiment. It seems to work well juggling aerial opponents like you did, but I like it because it also eats up space (the reason I use the gears over the spears or swords with Patchi). I'll be testing it out more in the near future.

I've somewhat started concentrating on certain characters, but yeah, chalk it up that you're out of practice.

GGs Tak. Your press has really gotten better. Be wary that you dash 2A in a quite predictable way, it's hard to poke into it so it's not very dangerous, but I could correctly block every of them when I noticed that.
Also, try to add sequences such as sj instant j(2?)B/j(2?)C (I don't know which is better?) air front dash jA, or sj instant jB/C fly to the ground 5A... maybe j2A could be a good idea too, to mix with physical attacks a bit more. I don't know Aya a lot, just try to make your press a more unpredictable, and you'll have your opponent panic for real.

Looks like it's time I stop trying to play Utsuho. I feel like playing street fighter, whenever I try to attack I get smashed, and fall asleep throwing fireballs. Oh great, my keyboard broke, leftmost alphabets and "1" don't work. I had to use my G11 macro buttons for moves and since I don't have spellcards there, my spellcard usage got totally crippled around the time I switched to Tenshi. It was also quite awkward to play using different button layout.

GGs though, you were trolling enough while playing normally.

I was playing around with Mauve's Frame Stepper (http://hisouten.koumakan.jp/wiki/Frametools)) and came across something slightly disturbing. Do reversals, such as Youmu's 623B, really have invulnerability frames? I tried several times this case: at frame 0, Youmu finishes to input 623B and enters startup. At frame 1, Sanae inputs close 5A.

Sanae's 5A did beat Youmu's 623B every time.

What the hell? What is the use of a "reversal" if it's as vulnerable as a wake up 5A against a correctly timed meaty? Is there a special mechanism on wake up (tests were done on neutral)? I know that some dps such as Reimu's are cheesy, but I thought that Youmu had a decent one; something you could really call a reversal to make it short.

On a side note, 623C has graze frames since the frame it's input at.

>> No.5501167

>>5501113
From what I've heard, no default skill reversal has invulnerability frames at level 0. But ones like Marisa's and Youmu's start gaining them on level ups. I could be wrong, so perhaps try experimenting some more.

Wow, playing Suwako was really rage-inducing. I blame the random sgements where the game would seem to skip over a few frames, which somehow had the effect of making me flip out because I can barely tell what's going on. I don't even know why I kept playing her after the first match since today obviously wasn't a good Suwako day. I guess I'm just really dumb.

The Alice vs Tenshi matches were weird since you beat me up pretty cleanly in the second while I slaughtered you on the 3rd. I'm not sure why that happened, unless both of our playlevels vary from match-to-match a lot or something.

Oh hell naw son, EFZ lasted for like a month and a half or so. And when I'm not I have a bunch of minions to do it for me because, you know, I'm the goddamned Giant Tree.
... No, I really don't feel that way about myself, but y'know, that's what it looks like sometimes.

>>5501531
GGs you bag of ass, I love you. Sure is great to see people still playing good games around here; I almost thought about making a new thread but whatever, only newfriends whine when I do reaction image or >implying nonsense, so clearly nobody's going to have problems with a soku thread hijack for one post.
Honestly I'd been spending a lot of this time playing Melty Blood where not only is there no RGing but wakeup DPs can't be buffered quite as easily, so I kept being used to weirdass timing that doesn't work anymore. Aw well.

I had one hell of a fun fucking time, despite the fact that I forgot my windower; the whole time I was cackling like a pothead at a frat party or something. Well, except for when I did barrel super, that was screaming at my screen for it to work. Controller almost hit the wall when it failed, I decided to use that time to just punch something instead to minimize damage, this thing already feels like it's falling apart. My poor baby ;_;

About Youmu's 623B, the results are simple:
Level 0, no invulnerability before at least 6 frames in the startup (note: I don't mean that it has some after, it just doesn't before and that's enough to be as useless as a wakeup 5A), beat by 4A (startup of 6 frames) input after it.

Level 1, cleanly beats 4A input 5/6 frames before. Melee Invulnerability from the first frame, in the same fashion as 623C has graze property since the first frame (and level 0).

So, just confirming what a few anons were saying. Move is garbage at level 0 but become a true reversal at level 1 (I assume that further levelling only increases damage).
