Does anyone survive Rokkenjima?

The only people I think who might are Eva(well, duh), Battler, Sayo, and Jessica.

If only Sayo survived, I will not be a happy camper. There's bittersweet, and then there is ungodly depressing shit.

One of the ways I've been entertaining myself lately has been trying to figure out what was happening at Ange's future in Ep 4. I assume the bodyguard boy sniped the thugs from afar.

Much of Umineko has been poisoned to me by the thrice-accursed lying narrator, but that should hopefully have no impact to the future episode (save Ange's own hallucinations/delusions).

The explanation comes in two parts, the first regarding Hachijou Touya's pen name, and the second part on her name's relevance with Ushiromiya Asumu's.

Let's start with the explanation to Hachijou Touya's (八城十八) pen name: 伊藤幾九 郎〇五七六

Now we agree to use these pronunciations and assign numerical values to them (based on the pronunciation)
伊 (i = 1)
藤 (tou = 10)
幾 (iku = 1,9)
九 (kyu = 9)
郎 (rou = 6)
〇 (maru = 0)
五 (go = 5)
七 (nana = 7)
六 (roku = 6)
Simple enough. We can now get 11019960576 from that.

Taking Touya's (十八 = 18) name into consideration, we can calculate:
11019960576 = 8^18
In other words,
18's 8乗 (18's hachijou, as 乗 can be pronounced "jou", lit. "to the power of")
The pronunciation can now be written as 八城十八 (Hachijou Touya)

Still following? <Good>. The relevance of this can immediately be seen in the second part below.

Back to Hachijou Touya's name.

>> No.5379771

八城十八, which can be taken as 8上18 (城 and 上 can both be pronounced as jou. 18 up 8? 18th exponent of 8. That's the 8^18 = 11019960576. Made the connection? <Good>.)

8上18 (18 up 8) could also be taken as 18 adding 8; 18+8 = 26
remember the cryptic 07151129 written on the door that was a bank account number? Well,
0+7+1+5+1+1+2+9 = 26
So now we've established a connection between Hachijou Touya 18+8 = 0+7+1+5+1+1+2+9 cryptic account number

Let's work with the 26 we've got earlier.
First, the surname 右代宮 (Ushiromiya) could be deconstructed phonetically and reconstructed as 後ろ38 (後ろ = ushiro, lit. "behind", 3=mi, 8=ya)
Behind 38? Oh: The 38 is behind.
Behind what? 26.

3826 (can be pronounced as mi you ni mu)
み よう に む or flattening them, みょうにむ
myouni, lit. tomorrow can be written as 明日
mu, lit. dream can be written as 夢

明日夢 can be pronounced as Asumu
With 38 behind (後ろ38, pronounced Ushiromiya), we finally get
右代宮明日夢 Ushiromiya Asumu

The idea of Jessica being the second Battler isn't a completely clueless one. The red text that says Battler Ushiromiya was born from Asumu Ushiromiya while maintaining that both Battler and Battler Ushiromiya are not Asumu's SON foreshadows the fact that the other Battler may be female.

After that, we have Natsuhi's unreliability and Krauss's absence in episode 5 to give Jessica's origin dubious circumstances, and her similar age to Battler, and bam! We have a decent theory.

As for Asumu being Featherine, yeah that is just fluff for the most part, but with the TIPs it certainly has the potential to fall into place.

I'm sure our good buddy Bernkastel will confirm and/or deny these things in episode 7.

Nah, she has no one for her. She'll be driven to madness and used by Bern against Battler, who will have to put her down. Really, sucks to be her.

It's an extension of the ghost Erika theory for EP6. Basically, all of the times where it seemed like Battler was playing into Erika's hands, making foolish moves, and writing a nonsensical plot, he was actually doing so deliberately in order to lure Erika into a massive trap that would help him restore Beato's old self.

Erika gave up her trustworthy POV so she could kill the first twilight victims, but Battler predicted that move and took advantage of it. He presented her with a series of implausible plot developments after the first twilight, which she swallowed whole because she thought he was a bad writer, and allowed her to make several bizarre moves with her piece (like repairing the chain with duct tape) as if that piece had access to her meta-level reasoning.

From Erika's perspective, it looked like Battler was walking right into her logic error trap. However, because of her unreliable POV, those implausible moves could be used by Battler to move her piece without her knowledge. Under the smokescreen of a bad detective novel, Erika's piece was actually the real culprit and someone who was in on the fake death plot. While Erika thought she was cornering Battler, her piece was actually helping Kanon and Battler set up the scene for the fake second twilight. And then, after Battler left, that piece killed Kanon.

Since Battler set up the logic error deliberately (notice how scenes from the logic error prison had an effect on the narrative before the error actually occurred?), he knew the answer himself. This is why his furniture, Zepar and Furfur, were able to give Beato hints about it. He kept quiet and pretended to be trapped so that Beato would have to obtain a miracle and regain her old self in order to save him.

Now that I think about it, it WAS said that Battler could have easily escaped the logic error if he had revealed a portion of Beato's heart....

But that's stupidly simple.
Hell, not even using the folding method, it's easy. Of course that brings you to the limit of what exactly a cut is.

Pretty sure the game stated that changing directions and stuff like that doesn't count. It has to be a single stroke, in one direction, with no continuation.

Rather, each cut can only be a single stroke, in one direction, with no continuation.
