I load it up the screen is black for a few seconds then the intro starts playing, it stutters a little but it smooths out over time and I try to go to the main menu but...

Is that all the Touhou and VNs you have or is there a reason only those ones are on the desktop?

As soon as I try it my screen flips shit goes completely black and I get that error message down in the corner. I've tried updating my video drivers but it still does the same thing.

I'm guessing he just wants the ones he goes to frequently on his desktop. I only have my Steam games and a folder with all the Touhou games (sans PC-98) on my desktop, and I only have Umineko in the way of visual novels. I have plenty of real books that I need to read.

Good, but it seems like you have display driver issues. You should look into that. Maybe reinstall them. If that doesn't work, contact support from the manufacturer of your GPU.

Also, you said it "stutters a little." That might be because of the event logger. Go to services and disable that. It's useless anyway, unless you're testing something.
