I'm a little confused about this /jp/
Fate Arc spoilers ahead:

The holy grail was NOT successfully obtained, since Saber destroyed it. So I'm assuming that Saber went back to her original time simply because the possibility to obtain the holy grail no longer existed in Shirou's time period. Or just because the war had ended.

Now, when Saber returned, did she retain her memory from when she was with Shirou? Is this why she decided not to make the "deal" again (become a servant in exchange for a guarantee that she will one day obtain the holy grail, as I understand it). Correct me if I'm wrong here.

So, from what Kirei said, I'm assuming that even though Saber destroyed the holy grail, it could still re-materialize into another "host" for the next holy grail war? Or are we supposed to believe that Saber completely annihilated its existence from time, and the war would never take place again?

More than a little confused here... how did anon understand the ending?

its something like, saber chooses to destroy grail -> nixes 'contract' of grail in return for becoming heroic spirit -> goes back to time before death and thus dies for real

as opposed to, obtains grail -> dies and becomes heroic spirit _> get summoned as servant again in future grail war for the lulz

at least she wont end up as fuel for the grail like the defeated servants do

Yes, you would think that. But you see, the Saber that we know who lives in our time is in essence a copy of her former self, taken out of the loop. Basically, she is a copy although she is a actual body as opposed to the other servants which are embodiments of spirits. That is to say, the Saber in our time is different from the Saber in the past, meaning they are two different bodies connected by the same consciousness and actions.
