Ok. I just 1cc'd this game. The slowdown probably helped, but the difficulty is really easy compared to touhou (at least on normal).

Now could someone tell me how to play? I haven't found any google-translatable manuals, nor useful English mentions of how to play the game.

All of the bullets are three colors; is there significance to this? It doesn't look like the game uses an Ikaruga-like system. How about the score multipliers? And is there any disadvantage I'm not seeing to just holding down fire+slow and having the auto-target nuke everything? It seems to be both stronger and auto-targetting, not to mention making it easier to dodge most patterns.

Help, anyone?

Post this in 28,721 threads and Suwako will pop out of your screen and ride your dick till you cum in her and conceive Sanae a sister.

Otherwise, Yuuka will rip your dick off.

Now play a real STG without moe-moe girls in it. Also, Touhou is actually fairly easy in comparison to most STGs.

>but the difficulty is really easy compared to touhou (at least on normal).

Meet these conditions to fight Extra boss:

Play at least on normal difficulty.

No autobomb.

No bomb until stage 4 midpoint.

No continuing during the whole thing.

If these conditions are fulfilled, Remedy appears as stage 4 midboss. Defeat her without dying, bombing or time running out and you will get to the extra stage after the fifth stage. You can't continue in the extra.

She's not that hard, but her boss music is pretty cool and she's a little more challenging than the rest of the game, esp. if you're playing on Hard.

the only reason to play the eXceed series is because of Shibayan's awesome music

vampire rex is kind of fun but way too easy

I think I already met the first set. Don't think I had to bomb or died until the stage 4 boss.

But I'm a bit more interested in actually playing the game properly before doing extra. Is there any significance to the bullet color, for one thing?

>>5209946

I don't know, sorry.

The games are really obviously trying to edge in on Touhou's popularity, so I would honestly wager that the multiple bullet colors are just so the patterns are prettier.

>> No.5210008

>>5209968
The reason I think they have some significance is because the game pretty much shoots them as if they did. They're always in the patterns together, as if you were supposed to be able to ignore half of them or something. And there's only 3 colors (one of which is the combination of the other two), and the two main colors are also used by the protagonist.

Maybe I'm just looking too hard into it.

>The games are really obviously trying to edge in on Touhou's popularity
It certainly has the girls, but isn't the largest attraction to touhou the music according to some 'official' survey? The music in BP, while not bad, isn't as good as Touhou's. It just felt completely out of place to me.

I agree, the stuff in eXceed 3 isn't really that great. The first boss' song is my favorite and then everything else is pretty bleh. Second stage theme is pretty nice.

Try Vampire Rex. It has much better music overall, some of Shibayan's best stuff really. Pretty much all the songs are good.

It's the formula. All girl cast, different songs for every stage/boss, and they threw in some really, REALLY shrill voice acting to make their game unique I guess.

I hate the main character's voice so much.

>different songs for every stage/boss
How unusual is that? I haven't played very many STGs. Samidare has tracks for each stage and boss. BWR+ has tracks for each stage, but shares tracks for the bosses (mostly). Do STGs normally reuse music a lot more?

>> No.5210104

>>5210076

Yes. For a good example, most Cave games use a single song for most/all of the bosses in the game, and then they have a special song for final boss/true final boss.

Outside of doujin games, re-using the boss theme for every boss is very common. ZUN just made having a fuckton of different songs very popular, really.

REVIEW THIS GAME, /JP/

I want to hear opinions.

Well, in the beginning, Touhou was an excuse to compose game music, so it makes sense that he would try to milk the games for as much as he could compose for them.
