Nanoha is an interesting psychological subject. Essentially, she's a walking self-image. She craves the spotlight and desires the attention of those around her. She's intensely self-absorbed, everything in her world is about her, or she has to have a major impact on it. Look at what she wears: even when the other senior members are officially instructing their classes, only Nanoha is wearing the full instructor's uniform. She wears her battle dress like a queen's gown, and likes to carry large, flashy symbols of her power into battle. Instead of finesse, she is drawn towards overt displays of overwhelming firepower; her "Shock and Awe" style of combat isn't because she's bloodthirsty or even likes to fight -- she actually doesn't like fighting. She fights the way she does because her personality just can't help but to thrust herself into crushing superiority over her foes, whom she sees more like interlopers into her personal world who need to be Put in Their Place....hard.

If any male character around Nanoha could stop being effeminate little fags for a little while and start going after her, you'd see that she would actually entertain their advances -- she'd eat that up, including attentions thrown her way by married/attached men. Nanohaverse characters can't stand up to Fate characters because they're part of a world with silly rules, much like Gensokyo's spellcards which generally involve sitting there for 2 minutes conjuring various colored effects before doing anything, and nobody ever, you know, dodging. While I find the 'Nanoha is a planet destroyer' side of this argument to be retarded, I do think it's worth noting the whole first half of StrikerS is about Nanoha and Fate teaching the kids to fight UNDER ANTI-MAGIC FIELDS.

The manga takes this to the next level by explaining how to deliver damage using magic to opponents protecting themselves with anti-magical fields, including the use of indirect damage from magically accelerated rocks.

The point is, StrikerS made a big deal out of training this new force to handle a new threat of magic absorbing machines against a armed forces that is almost entirely composed of mages. So Nanoha should be more then proficient at coping with a opponent with magical resistance. If I remember correctly, Fate's magical resistance isn't absolute either.

That said, it's a bit silly to compare the two because of all the differences between their setting. You can be sure that both writers in any crossover would play themselves down to be more or less about the same too seeing as Nanohaverse constantly reminds people that the other Aces are around Nanoha's level to the point no one of them could be called the strongest, and Nasu has a habit of laughing in the face of what fans think of their favourite characters power level.

Basically, choose whoever you like most. It doesn't matter.
