I find it unfair to be called a secondaryfag. I'm not a touhou fan. I save touhou images and sometimes masturbate to them, even though I have not played the games, but I don't particularly care where an image of a cute 2D girl is from. If you classify me as a secondaryfag for touhou, why would touhou get special treatment? I'd be a secondaryfag for at least 50 other things. It's probably more accurate to call someone a secondaryfag when they say they are a fan, but they have not played the games.

I got into Touhou because I'd just finished 1cc'ing Ikaruga and asked /v/ for a new shmup to play. I also asked about vidya music in the same thread.

A tripfag pointed me to Touhou, suggesting PCB. Downloaded the game, the OST, and another CD I saw on there(turned out to be Eternal Nocturne by dBU). Listened to the PCB OST on my way to work, played the game when I got home.

Have been playing the games ever since.

You are a secondaryfag if you actually use the term "secondaryfag" to seriously refer to people that enjoy things differently than you.

I play the games alot, I'm not very good (stuck on Orin @ SA), but it's certainly enough not to be stapled as a secondary, right?

Since I enjoy ZUN's music, I also happen to enjoy different doujin mixes of it.

A secondary fan is someone who does not play the games at all and mostly indulges in the fanworks.

There's nothing really wrong with this, it just earns you a lot of disdain from people who actually enjoy the games.

The reason for this is because secondary fans are seen as diluting the fanbase because outside of /jp/, secondary fans are pretty much animu faggots and complete retards. See: Doujinstyle, Poolshitter, Shrinemaiden.
