Translated:
- everything up to the OP
- character demos (that play if you don't click on the menu) partially trans'd
- days up until 6/6 (day 5) about 1/2 trans'd
- misc other scenes from common route
- most of Rika Route 6/10 by new guy

The problem is that this guy is trying to do two translations at once, when he hasn't even been able to complete his first.

In fact, since his announcement of Ashita on April 11, 2009 till now, he has Scripts Translated: 2/117
Images Edited: 47/108

Don't expect much from someone who could only do 2 scripts in over a year.

Don't take this for a fact or anything, but I -think- that's slower than the Tomoyo After/Ataraxia projects.

And what does it matter that it's a she?

Is that somehow an excuse for the ridiculously slow progess on Ashita?

Will it be the excuse for the slow progress on this project should "she" decide to translate it?

Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with "her" translating it.

I just don't want people to assume that "she" will make any real progress when it's been shown that "she" hasn't been able to make progress with Ashita no Kimi in over a years time.

I just don't want everyone to start saying "Oh yeah, Flyable Heart has a translation project." as that could make other potential translators turn the other way when they might be able to make real progress on this.

I tried waiting in #tlwiki. Jesus Christ, you guys should have warned me. Whatever, I'll just post it here.

http://www.mediafire.com/?4ljjj0vug5d

I'm not an EXPERT PROGRAMMER so this is more like a quick hack. It does the job, though.

1) Replace your FH.exe with the one I provided. It'll read the unpacked TEXT.DAT.
2) Use exmarupac_v2.exe to unpack your data.pac. Create a folder with the name "data" in your FlyableHeart folder and put the extracted files in there.
3) The script is in text.txt. Edit it and run make_dat_src.pl. You'll need perl for that. It'll create a TEXT.DAT and a SCRIPT.SRC. Put both in the data folder.
4) That's it. Run FH.exe and hope everything went well.

NOTES: Don't change the structure of text.txt as that'll screw shit up. That means you can't insert additional text lines. Also, use <br> if you want a newline in your text line.
<sXX> sets the font size. <s10> is tiny and <50 is huge>. <r text1> text2 </r> adds furigana to text2.
When you start the game with a broken TEXT.DAT or SCRIPT.SRC file it'll crash. Sometimes you'll have to delete continue.dat and system.dat from \Documents\SOFTPAL\ユニゾンシフト\FlyableHeart\save for it to work again, even if you fixed the files.

That's all. Oh, it's probably a good idea to make a safety copy of your game folder before trying this out.

MediaWiki actually sucks.

Its only purpose is to run Wikipedia. It's huge and heavy, and the code is nasty and convoluted, and the developers only care about anything you have to add or request as long as it doesn't affect how Wikipedia runs. Its full-text search is so highly defective that nearly everyone who wants to search for something on Wikipedia will just use Google instead. The wiki syntax is a horrible, nasty pile of hacks, it's monstrously incongruent (for one example of many, why are internal links double-brackets with a pipe separating target and text, but external links have to be single brackets with a space separating them?) and often it's easier or even necessary to fall back to writing plain HTML because it's either inflexible or simply lacking syntax outright for something. And you don't even get to write proper HTML, it's this bastardized "cleaned" version that strips out useful things like image links (this requires installing an extension, despite half of all websites in the world using an image as a link at some point or another), and integrating logins with other web services is nothing short of painful.

I'm aware of all this - out of the currently available places to host an open translation project however, TLWiki is still the best option (simply because the other options are also wikis or Retrans). >> No.5143523

Don't mind reiserFS he's the one who created C&D wiki so he's just a little butthurt.

TLWiki is the most mainstream so you have the best chances of getting more help. Not sure if the Japanese IP blocking will stop the C&D threat but, time will tell. C&D Wiki functions the same way, just without the potential unexpected help you might get from more people commuting the site(the chances for that help are pretty low to begin with anyway).

The reason RETrans sucks for Hatsukoi is because it was a project with multiple translators. When you have multiple translators you have multiple levels of quality, and some of it is bound to be bad. Thus you need a system that lends itself to quick and easy checking of the translation quality. RETrans prevents this, making it much more of a pain than it has to be.

Probably the best method to host a project (without a preexisting team), is to put up a TLWiki page, then host it elsewhere (preferably a private SVN), and then use an IRC channel or some other similar method for communication with methods of how to contact the team. Having a TLWiki page allows a broad audience to see there is a project looking for help, while hosting it elsewhere eliminates the risk of a C&D, and even if a C&D comes hopefully you have a solid team by then. Look at Kara no Shoujo, while that got C&D, it was able to get a solid team together, and now they just are hosting it elsewhere and continuing with a strong team.

How about:
- Script has to be broken into 50KB chunks resulting in over 60 pieces for this one
- Needing to submit all of those 50KB just to make a little correction
- Convoluted markup syntax that can mess with scripts (this one has < and >, for example)

The only exception being Greece, they know how to riot.

Then that's their problem. But I fail to see why they feel confident enough to go after some small-time translators halfway across the planet when they can't even deal with the threats in their own backyard.

Besides, that doesn't explain all those fucking mangaka that are trying to stop the Tokyo government from passing the loli ban. A few artists can put a dent in their legislation, but a few companies can't? Pretty shows how worthless those eroge companies are, and even more worthless for the idiots that bend over backwards to their C&Ds.

Excuse me, but "dramaing" wouldn't happen if you didn't take it down, not the other way around--Get it right.

Besides, why do you even have to take it down? What on Earth compels you to render your downloads more inaccessible if the WHOLE FUCKING POINT of TLWiki is to make these things more accessible? You won't even have to deal with drama from either the companies or the fans if you just fucking deleted their C&Ds and put their email addresses in the spam filter.

That was what it more or less intended to do. Did you really think they cared only about prepubescent characters in sexual relation? text.txt? I don't know what that is, but we can generate text.dat easily, script.src still needs to be inspected so we can correctly reassemble it using the new text.dat. This should theoretically enable inserting/removing lines and most of the other things associated with complete knowledge of the script format.
