So how does /jp/ get all their Touhou images? Do you download from sets or do you just grab a bunch of them from /jp/ and Dan/Gelbooru?

>> No.5086911

I have it mixed from Danbooru grabbing and from /jp/

>> No.5086917

I get my pics directly from elevens

Pixiv, duh.

>> No.5086940

Find on various sources, iqdb, find artist page, hopefully Pixiv. That's my source.

Some from /jp/, some from Danbooru, a bit from artbooks, and a lot from Pixiv.

>> No.5086950

A daily check on danbooru and occasionally pixiv if I feel like looking for stuff.

Can you browse Pixiv any other way than clicking on those "recommended for you" (I'm guessing it says that) section or going through authors favorites if you don't know japanese and/or are too lazy to copy/paste character names?

>> No.5087011

>>5086981
I browse through specific tags on a regular basis. Tags that I know, so I know what to expect.

Same way I use nico. Takes a while to figure out which tags mean what having no working knowledge of Japanese writing, but it's pretty easy to figure out what all images have in common when you're looking at a specific tag and infer what it means from that.

Looking up the series in wikipedia and copypasting the kanji from the article works well for me.

Easiest way to start is going to the rankings (http://www.pixiv.net/ranking.php?mode=day / week / month / rookie) and browsing from there - when you find an artist you like, you can add him to your bookmarks by clicking お気に入りに追加 below his avatar. I have an ever growing set of bookmarked artists that guarantee some quality art every day without looking too long. And of course, if you already have some artists you like, you can check if they have a pixiv page. Probably easiest way to do that would be to find artist's tag on danbooru and check there.
Or you can browse by tags, it's really easy to find Japanese character/series names. And if you find a picture you like you can copy its tags to any automatic translator to see what it's tagged as, and under which tags should you look for similar pictures - though I use that mostly for porn.

Searching by tags on niconico and pixiv is so frustrating since you gotta get that shit exact or you get nothing.

That's why you should follow the existing tags wherever possible - trying to find something(other then character name/series name) by translating tags from English to Japanese is rather hard.

I don't usually go to Pixiv because I need to login and I'm too lazy to look up the password.
