Rather than a social movement it's more like resistance against people who are trying to cast the normal ideal over the 2D lover. I assume OP is talking about real life situation, it's silly to bring it up in real life, but you have a point there. How is this not a "lifestyle"? Life is hugely classified by relationships and sex, so such a thing really is a lifestyle choice. Seemingly, it would include voluntary virginity (presuming the person makes the choice before having lost it first), no natural children (unless surrogate, or something), no involvement of the many elements of popular culture centered around (3D) sex appeal, and such. It is a large impact.

It seems like you're mad because of the stigma of the word "lifestyle" more than anything. Or maybe the stigma as a social movement as only something emo or goth kids or whatever you think it is do.
