Rate the last 3 VNs you played.

Eien no Aselia: 9/10
Gameplay could get boring and the pacing was a little off in the first few chapters but I loved the story and it really got epic starting with chapter 3.

Muv-Luv Extra Sumika/Meiya routes: 8/10
Surprisingly funny and entertaining all the way through, nothing memorable but it was fun.

Sekien no Inganock: 8.5/10
Could get very repetitive but the setting was great and the game had a great mood.
Ati and Kia were awesome.

Overrated. I expected an action/adventure story but what I got was chicken sandwiches and hide and go seek.

I gave this four points for the brief action scene. Why would anyone that had survived so long in a post-apocalyptic kill or be killed world risk his life and get all soft with a malfunctioning robot? Such wasted potential.

Ikusa Megami Verita 10/10.
Pretty much the best gameplay oriented eroge, a treat for the fans of the series, I may overrate it a little since I just finished it but I don't care.

Subarashiki Hibi 10/10
Probably the biggest surprise of the year.
Everything about it was god tier, storytelling, characters, etc... Lots of amazing scenes as well.

Akatsuki no Goei 8/10
The humor is the best part, lots of great banters but the writer could work on the other parts a bit more.

Dragged on way too long during the school sections and the middle of the al Fine route, but the keybordan' game was fun and the beginning of the al Fine route was awesome, especially the placement of the OP sequence.

Houzuki route: 8/10
I liked how they showed parallels between Machaomi and Ken, but Mina was a really bland heroine. Sunflower Dev comments were mildly amusing during QC time.

Great VN. I picked it up just because it had the "Musical Themes" tag, but I got way more than I expected. The scenario was a bit cliche and predictable, but the characters were excellent and all of their interactions were enjoyable. Definitely recommend it.

Eien no Aselia: 7.5/10
The plot is mostly enjoyable, but towards the end it I felt it was dragging a bit (might have been because of the battles).

Brass Restoration: 8.5/10
I'm only rating this based on the two routes I played, Yui and Kouri. The comedy is great, the MC is an enjoyable departure from your typical VN protagonist. Drama was for the most part not overdone and fit well with the routes.

Cross Channel: 10/10
The only VN I've played that presented a protagonist who is more unique than any other character, wrapped in a story that did everything the movie Groundhog Day ignored in favor of schmaltz. Should of gotten an anime adaption, but most likely DEEN would of gotten it and fucked it up.

Princess Waltz: 5/10
Bland. Somebody had a good idea here but instead they just ripped off FS/N.

Tsukihime: 7/10. Not that well polished and the ending wasn't very satisfying IMO, but otherwise pretty good.
Kagetsu Tohya: 5/10. Like Tsukihime, but incredibly convoluted, confusing, and generally a mess. Requires a walkthrough or luck to get through.
Fate/Stay Night: 8/10. I played this a long time ago, but went back to play it again for the hell of it. Too much slice of life and I hate Shirou, but a bit better than Tsukihime.

Sharin no Kuni Fandisc: 9/10
Yeah, I'm a fanboy. Great conclusion to a great story.

Muv Luv Extra (amaterasu partial translation): 7/10
I agree with OP even though I'm not as generous with the rating. 7/10 is a game I would recommend to anyone who likes the VN genre. Anyways, I'm expecting a lot from Alternative, because I liked the characters. Except maybe the MC. I don't like donkan protagonists that much.

>> No.5004100

Symphonic Rain: 9.5/10. Inspiring. One of my favorite VNs for sure. I love twists, and this had almost Ever17 level bricks without sacrificing the setup routes.

Pure Pure: 8/10. Too much slice of life. Sachi and Tobari's routes were pretty good, but Miwa and Hinata's weren't so great. The common route was also eternally fuckin long and boring, to the point where I could only play through a couple days in game per real day, so it took me over a month to finish the entire game. On the upside, there's plenty of good H content and the moe is through the roof. It's also a lot sadder than you'd think at first. You'll be tearing up even in the prologue.

Romanesque 5/10: It starts off strong, then around week 20 you get a new character EVERY FUCKIN WEEK until week 30 or so, and there's no explanation given for why Domino is attracting an enormous harem of badly proportioned women. The lolis, the reason you probably play, are interesting enough, and they're involved in tons of magical hi jinx and slice of life that's moderately interesting, but it kind of overdoes it. There's not much plot development until the final couple hours of each route. I didn't even have the willpower to do more than Arya's and Kaya's routes, just because a playthrough takes quite a long time thanks to the minigame and there didn't seem to be anything left worth playing through again for, since the side characters, frankly, suck. I was gonna play through the maid's route, but--oh wait, she doesn't have one. Good characters aren't allowed to have routes.

Gore Screaming Show: 9/10
Didn't expect the first three routes to be school life romance with some horror thrown in, but it worked surprisingly well. Yamiko's route was better and developed the overall story more, but it was mostly a set up for Yuka's route, which was amazing and about as good of a climax and conclusion as I could ask for.

Narcissu Side Second: 6.5/10
Better than Narcissu but still rather average. There just wasn't much to the story or characters.

Sanarara: 8.5/10
I really liked every one of the four stories. Mostly cute romance with some tearjerking moments, all done quite well. Also despite being short each story managed to develop the characters as well as longer VNs. Too much kitchen scenes and the dialogue was too long sometimes, like describing all the evils of the world doesn't need 20 minutes on just that. But the action scenes and background is interesting and deep.

The only thing likable about this VN is the characters, which are pretty damn likable in my opinion. The plot is mediocre and not much could be said for the game play. What really kills the game is that all the routes are half assed. You spend the first half of the game in a sort of "Chris route", and then the latter half with a girl of your choice. What this ends up doing though is through you into a forced romance with a character you have almost nothing to do with, there is no building of any relationship.

Kikokugai: 7.5/10
Quite good if you like gore and weird nitro+ shit. Worse than Saya, though.
Sekien no Inganock: 7/10
Meh. Could be better with less repetitive shit. Damn you, randolph, porshion, etc. Confusing plot. I guess it could be worse.
Chaos;Head: 3/10
After a friend recommended it to me, I finally played this piece of shit. It managed to have a shitty plot, a shitty system, shitty characters, shitty development, shitty cliches and pretty much shitty everything. Nice art and okay-ish soundtrack, though. I expected more of you, Nitro+.

Nitro+ was only responsible for the release, they didn't ahve anything to do with Chaos Head I believe.

If I recall correctly, Nitro+ only handled the 3D stuff for the Chaos;Head.

More like emotional connection, since I can identify myself with Kanon quite well, so the scene with her dance just... well.
Reading Mizuha's right now, she doesn't seem too good for starters, I hope her plot gets better, or just appears, for now is her being deredere.

Makes sense then. I have high hopes on the main route, if it ends being as good as I think it will be I won't really mind the weak side routes anyway.

The main route is shaping up incredibly well in my opinion, I want to start it, but I want to do Mizuha first, for the sake of completion, still, Haru is being awesome right now, the same with Yuki.

Segoku Rance: 9/10
I never knew that a rapist could be that likable despite the atrocities he does and the gameplay is very fun although it can get a little monotonous after playing the game enough times when you're trying to get everything.

Saya no Uta: 7/10
I liked it although and I wasn't too bothered by the gore but the MC and Saya were a little too crazy for my tastes.

Fate/Stay Night: 10/10
Loved the characters (even Shirou), the concept was interesting and I loved the music. Ultimately, there were very few things (If any) that I didn't like about it. UBW>Fate>>>HF but I felt all of them were brilliant.

Sharin no Kuni (9/10) - The character development was fucking amazing. Even though I did not like some characters in the beginning (ie. Touka and Sachi), I really began to love them after playing through their chapters. It was really difficult to choose a route. The art wasn't too great, especially the shading, but I enjoyed it anyway. The BGM was also bland at some points.

Musumaker (7/10) - I thought the whole "raise your own daughter" thing was very cliched, but DigitalCute seemed to do it right. It really went it depth with the raising system. Lots of cute lolis and good H-scenes, ranging to pure love to hard BDSM and gangrape. The dialogue became boring in some parts, and it felt like it would drag on. It's not really something to play for the story, but it's good to fap to and I really did love most of the characters. Amazingly cute art, and the few animated H-scenes was a nice touch.

Ever17 - 6/10. Well played, and would give it 9/10 if only there wasn't that bullshit swimming part at the end, which perfectly destroyed all the "Just according to the SCIENCE" until that point, and generally screwed the whole finale for me.

制服ロリ白書 ~○学生痴漢陵辱~制服レイプ極

(picrelated) short, but very sweet. 10/10. I fapped several times to it.

Cross Channel. 6/10. Characters are good, but writing style(wall of boring text[15 screens], wall of text that we've seen before[15 screens], self-reflection about white hair[15 screens], being a jerk without a reason[20 screens], SUDDEN BOOM! one sentence that twist the entire plot[2 screens], wall of useless text again) sucked. I even missed the part where they explained how the hell he send everybody away and why he can't send himself. I didn't miss that he can't live/leave with Youko and ignores her. How the hell he can ignore her? She is awesome. I wanted to hug her every times she appears. Especially in mansion flashbacks.

Clannad: just started. Meh. I'm kinda dissapointed. 7/10. Maybe it was good for its time, but now I'm kind of sick of school+lot of girls who lusts for MC setting.Maybe it'll get better later.

Well, the predestination paradox so irrational that it's hard to complain about it, if you know what I mean.

And while I thought that transcending time =/= moving freely in it, the game pretty much pointed there all the time.

Also, I thought about the general solution(Let the water from the center flow down to the third floor) in half of the second route and kind of hoped that Sora is trolling all along.
Now that I think of it, why did Sora know of her own end that pretty much never happened?

Akatsuki no Goei : 9/10
Unlike the previous two games this time the setting and the characters are put to an use, there are three different scenarios you can get into, and each of them can lead to a route with one of the heroines, all of them interesting, from the canon ojou-sama to the yandere psycho.
Kaito looks more badass than ever and his character is now well rounded and understandable, not confusing and weird like before.

姦染2 : 7.5/10
I didn't really expect much about this one, I mean it's about a zombie outbreak with sexually aroused zombies.
But putting aside the ridiculous setting, the game does a really good job of getting into the mentality of a group of survivors.
Doubt, love, hate, tension, fear, you can feel it all.
Really unexpected from a porn with plot game.

色に出でにけりわが恋は : 4/10
I still have no idea what this is supposed to be, a nukige ? There's moe but porn is definetely lacking.
I suppose it's a standard ADV love VN, but even so it sucks hard.
There are tons of choices, which I usually really don't mind because they help getting in character, but none of them have any heavy effect beside 6-7 lines of text.
Routes are also very short compared to the LONG and BORING commong route, and the lame plot and shallow characters don't help either.

Meeting a girl, falling in love with her, having sex on Christmas Eve, then finding out later she's your blood related sister. Oops. Decent game, I liked Hatsukoi better.

FS/N: Huge piece of shit. Interesting concept and awesome setting, to bad the execution sucked, the ost is fucking awful and most of the characters have no depth. Also, Nasu's way of writing is annoying. 3/10

Higurashi Tsumihoroboshi-hen: Very good, some parts felt to stretched out, but i really enjoyed it. 8/10, i liked Meakashi-hen more.
