4691512 No.4691512 [Reply] [Original]

"Very interesting. Difficult but doable. Feel free to try and organise it. You have my full support."

That was what the faculty adviser (of the Japanese section of the world culture program I have signed up to) said of my idea of having myself and a group of my fellow students request an audience with Princess Mako and Kako, as a form of "youth exchange".

If I can get the rest of the study group on board with the scheme, I could be in the presence of my love (Mako) by the spring of next year. I must make friends with all the students and earn their respect. I must come to be like a leader among them, so that Mako can sense my good qualities the moment she sets eyes on me.

To do this, I will have to work on the minds and spirits of my fellow students. To boot, I'll have to seduce the Imperial Household Agency into letting us meet the Princesses to begin with.
This is going to take all of my skill.

Wish me luck, /jp/. You've been with me so far.

Like all cultural programs, this one is made up of mostly girls. Although I still have a lot of work to do, I'm ahead of them all in Japanese language skills (Which is to say, I've studied it. Nobody else has. At least, nobody I have spoken to yet).

None of them strike me as being big Don Juans. There is one guy, Terry, who seems to get along too well with all the girls. I'll keep an eye on him, but I don't expect he'll cause any problems especially considering he speaks no Japanese.

And, honestly, Terry is a bit of a douche. Girls seem to like him, but he's actually pretty obnoxious. I don't see Mako falling for him, of all people.

You now realise that Terry is the average everyman protagonist of this harem animu, and you are the pathetic comic relief otaku rival that fails again and again to woo any girls with his overly-elaborate plans.

Terry/Mako end confirmed.

Thank you. It means a lot to me to have /jp/ on my side.

It's funny, but if I had told the me of even six months ago how much closer I'd be to my dream I wouldn't have believed it.

But I just kept on taking little baby steps - studying Japanese, going outside more, taking up a physical hobby (hiking), signing up for this program, proposing the idea to my adviser - until I found myself ankle deep in my fantasies.

I only hope everything goes to plan, so I can finally leap into it head first!

They make no contributions to society and draw large resources from it because they are entitled to draw large resources from it because of antiquated societal functions, I think that fits 'social parasite' definitions pretty well.

Useful for other reasons.

In the UK, the royal family probably put more money into the country's economy than they take out of it, what with all that tourism etc. I'm not sure if Japan's royal family is the same in that way, but yeah.
