Since this is a figure thread I thought I'd ask opinions on which is better to get. I'd like to spend somewhere around $75-$100 range at max. I've basically narrowed down my choices to one of the two Figmas (I'd rather have Marisa, but Reimu is already out and will more likely become rarer sooner, so I'd go with her first) or one of the Griffons. But my question is, whether it would be worth it to save up for a Griffon or get the Figma now.

My original plan was to spend it on a Dragon Quest vinyl figure that I could only find in stock on ebay for a shitty $50 and then use leftover cash on the Figma, but then I saw that AmiAmi had it in stock, so I got it there for much cheaper. That got me thinking extravagantly, damnit.

My brother is an airline pilot, so when he has time off he travels (for free) to wherever. He's a weeaboo so he goes to Japan like 4 times a year - he picked it up for me when he went last. There's a shop that's about 3 stories high full of only Touhou shit somewhere on the sidestreets near Akiba or something so he picks me up stuff from there sometimes. This is also how I got that box thing with the thick as fuck doujin and music CD i mentioned, as well as the remi ema.

He's not really into Touhou so he just got whatever was cute and Touhou, so it ended up being Cirno, which I'm fine with anyway regardless how /jp/ feels about her. It's also really nice quality instead of the usual rough and shitty feeling wallscrolls have it feels really nice and the art and stuff is good too.

My problem isn't really only the faces. The poses are boring and generic, they are low on detail, both in sculpt and paint. Would have been okay if they were cheaper than your average PVC but they aren't.

The only two other Marisas that I know exist is the sculpt T's system made for Toranoana and the PVC made of off a sculpt by Yoshi.

The T's system one looks really plain and boring, but I like Yoshi's.

In my opinion both Kotobukiya and Yoshi Marisa > Griffon.

It does not have an Aya. Don't feel bad though, there is a good chance she would have looked kinda fuckin' weird anyway (the set has a pretty distinct style of doing the eyes).

As you may know, there is an Aya nendoroid petit due in a little while. I'm going for this astoundingly cute set simply because it's got Suika in it, but I'm guessing you'd get it for the crowslut. As seen here -

I have Youmu.
She's nice. I hesitated at first but she turned out to be my best fig.
The nameplate isn't a sticker as far as I can tell and at least they spelled her name correctly.
As for the fig itself it's very smooth and clean, myon looks good. Details like painted thumbnails and on her swords look good as well. Only thing is her head-ribbon lacks that white stripe. I guess one might criticize the shading on her dress as being a bit over-done as well, but I think on Youmu's plain outfit it works and offers some necessary accentuation.
There's something static and dead about Griffon's expressions, but on Youmu it works, there's something calming about her tightly pursed little mouth.
As for the interior, it's actually pretty nice, but unfortunately the folds on her dress repel my fingers from exploring it.
Youmu's a good girl. It's only natural.
