Wtf is this? They are professional singers not seiyuu just because seiyuu also sing you think that singers will be as good as not being monotonous as seiyuu? Actors will definitely better and many actors are also pretty good seiyuu it is actually very rare for them to cast singers as main honestly the last time I remember actual singer being seiyuu was LiSA but she only dubbed minor character in minion, most of time when they use singers that would be for in film singing voice like Ado for One Piece or use singer that also musical actors for Disney movies as leads.

Yeah and what they still use actors many times for publicity, just because some of those actors are bad doesn't mean singers are better, Miyazaki usually for publicity because he likes to use famous ones but Shinkai uses up and coming actor/actress so maybe the actors/actress agency will invest in his movie and also stepping stone for those actors acting career. Honestly for general public in Japan they do like the movies to use actors/entertainer because they sound more realistic than seiyuu acting.

As I said it depends on the actors, there are some that can be decent to good. They understand they're voice acting. There are seiyuu that can do that kind of "realistic" style but not all can do PR work. Celebrities are better for that.

That's not true in my experience. I have lived in Japan for years and before I got married I was with tons of Japanese girls and all but about three were shaved, and one of those was an older lady.
