Her torso appears to be facing straight towards us, so instead of angling towards her left, her legs should be facing roughly the same direction (except female legs point even more inwards so keep that in mind). If you bend your own legs left and right, you can be aware of how far they can turn and what feels natural. This is where you should also use references, both from real life and from artists you look up to, if you're uncertain about how something looks.

Drawing the feet is the most important part of the leg because the position of the feet will determine the posture of the rest of the leg. For example, the knees will always point in the same direction as the feet. And from there, how far the knees bend depends on how close her feet are to her pelvis. This principle also works similarly with hands. You can create more natural poses by starting out with a Rayman character and connecting the limbs going from foot->knee->rest of leg rather than going thigh->knee->shins/calves->foot. Even 3D models are animated similarly, with an inverse kinematics control system that allows you to move the whole leg by dragging around the foot.

If you just want to draw cute/hot fanart you don't need to grind fundamentals for a long as fuck time. People who insist that you have to spend three years on a mountain grinding still lifes to draw are straight up lying, it takes like a month max to draw mediocre but still cute cartoony anime bodies, then you just level up from there.

My tip for drawing something you don't know, like a hard pose like this one, is to grab pictures thar show something similar and try to imitate the pose and proportions.
"Steal" the pose. Draw it a few times with a light pen and with no expectations.
Then when you try to do your version, it will look much better since you understand now more or less how it works. Literally go to google, danbooru or something, and grab photos or artwork that have poses similar to what you want. Compare, repeat, absorb, and don't be afraid of discarding a sketch in the early stages if you don't like how it's turning out

If you use an artist for reference, try to grab someone as good as possible, because you will also absorb some of their flaws, but it will still be an improvement over your original starting point.

I don't know about Firefox proper, but I use Librewolf and it's pretty good. If the latest versions of Firefox don't work you could just use the last version that supported Windows 7, I did that with Chrome and it works fine.
I don't know how much longer I can keep getting away with using it, but I haven't noticed anything significant going completely out of support other than Steam.

The youkai that lives in my mirror told me there's more to drawing than drawing characters (people, animals, robots, etc), things (inanimate objects) and backgrounds. I don't understand what the youkai in the mirror meant by that. Now I'm frustrated and confused. I'm trying to draw but I keep thinking that I'm missing something.
Even looking at others' drawings doesn't help. I can't find anything that doesn't fit those three categories described. Even though the youkai is in the mirror, I feel its influence. Please help me figure out what the youkai was trying to tell me.

If you want a little tip, try to do the sketch in another layer of your drawing program of preference, lower the opacity of that sketch layer, and in another layer draw the finalized, cleaner lines over the sketch. You have to slowly get used to the advatntages of drawing digitally

think I've come to realize that I don't like the actual size as much as I do the zoomed in ones, weird how that works

Thank you! It's nice to hear people enjoy it despite all of it being purely pragmatic decisions. (low resolution means the range of error is smaller (I believe in platonic idealism when it comes to drawings) so the chance of accidentally drawing the right thing is easier, while the 1bit dithering makes transitions between shades easier and is generally just easier to work with)

For me, anything low res, a small color palette and no anti-aliasing counts as pixel art. And if it's the "art" part that bothers you, I feel the exact same and would never ever use that term for my drawings either. just try to imagine it here that "pixel art" is an unbreakable compound word here that just has it's own meaning, instead of it's actual separate parts.

Yeah, it's always such a struggle. I do actually have some that got automatically made when I streamed on pixiv and once catbox stops being ddos'd ill link one here, you'll see it's the exact same for me.

A fellow autist of presentation I see. I always get annoyed when I post my drawings somewhere and they get scaled bilinearly or something like that. I'm still not sure when to pre-scale there or not because in some cases it's better while others are worse. It's very individual for which site and the original image's resolution.

I keep track of most all these threads, love seeing absolutely everything people do even if I don't feel like thinking up something to draw

I've yet to draw something that comes out like I imagine it being in my head, like toutetsu's hair isn't anywhere near as fluffy as I'd like (I hate hair in general) but I can't be bothered to keep drawing random lines until it looks perfect so oh well

doing tiny resolutions also came from the idea of it being easier, although I definitely get fucked over by it too, it's close to impossible to get the exact shapes I want and I can't really do pixel by pixel unless it's for coloring

dithering looks so cool but I'd probably have a stroke attempting to actually use it in a reasonable way

I see you are trying to tackle clothes. It's not an easy subject at all, but still a necessary step. I still struggle with them, there's a lot to think about and a lot to practice to get them right. Trying to render folds and shit is already the right step.

I'm going to practice Loomis this week. It's not anime but it's what people recommend to start head construction, distinctive features, etc.

That's actually fine, every anime face is a 3/4 angle and nobody actually notices it :D Get good at that one angle and you're golden.

I feel like construction for anime faces is bit of a joke, western copium. It is helpful to understand head anatomy and how it's stylized in anime, but that alone does not get you a good anime face. I feel that more important is to nail a japanese artstyle, which is very difficult for us westerners since we didn't grow up with that sort of media.

Yeah, clothes and long hair are a bit of struggle for me. I know that i need to zig and zag, but sometimes i just can't decide which one is which.
But honestly its just that i have no time to consistently practice which often makes me gravitate to another nude basic practice of simple poses and proportions.
