I'm mainly here for the Touhou, porn, and Touhou porn.

For a quick look into latest Comiket release threads, some touhou and to check out if there's some new VNs mentioned.

/jp/ deserves a lot more praise than it gets. Sure, there is a lot of shit here, but the other boards are also full of it. And the threads that do work are awesome, the long danmaku threads, the anonymity also reduces greatly the amount of e-peen that is seen on other regular boards "lol I can clear lunatic everything pacifist", the vn threads which has some great discussions from time to time, and so forth.

It's also one of the few boards on 4chan that uses sage correctly.

Posting anonymously has its appeal. Compared to Pooshlmer I like the somewhat faster pace and less persistent threads. Also did someone say lesbians?

I like /jp/ for the following reasons:

1. Seems like there aren't too many underage users.
2. Not too fast but not so slow you can't spend spend a good chunk of time looking at it.
3. /jp/ users don't swarm around girls or give undue attention to female users; on the contrary, users who announce themselves as females are usually despised by the community.
4. /jp/ is one of the few boards I know of to have the concept of "normalfags," i.e. they realize that within their community values and morals are different than those of the outside world, and that within /jp/ they have the ability to judge others worth based on /jp/s rules.
5. Most /jp/ users understand said values and morals of /jp/ and typically don't break them unless intentionally trolling; you don't get a lot of the sincere "Hey I act like that jokingly on /jp/, but if you seriously are that much of a loser irl then you really have problems man" kind of shit.
6. Most /jp/ users seem to have actual interest in the stuff they're posting about, as opposed to just being into it for the community or whatever.
7. /jp/'s sense of humor is pretty good (this is objective of course, but that's what I think).
