Watch replays. This guy is good but Sakuya will have you moving a lot so static images only go so far.

If you are thinking of what I think you are, then the lasers are avoided in a similar fashion to SA drunk oni lasers. Usually good to move, but not too much.

How do you kill Sakuya during Misdirection before it times out? I can't do it except with homing Reimu. I stay right on her in the middle, too, but I always have to bomb to get that 1up.

EotSD trash aren't tough at all, especially if you know where they're coming from. This is particularly true on Patchy and Sakuya's stages. Reimu's weak shot just prolongs spellcards and prevents you from taking down the more irritating fairies before they launch their bullets.
Marisa's power just takes everything down like nobody's business. "Danmaku is all about power-ze!" The bombs I never end up using on boss fights take care of the very few tight spots. Her hitbox is not a problem.

>>4354713
Thing I hate about EoSD marisa is her unfocused speed, zoom zoom into a bullet's face

>> No.4354739

>>4354713
Marisa's firepower is indeed amazing, but the movement speed is still a turn-off for me. Feels like I'm skirting around rather than playing to the best of my capability. Trash isn't a problem either, and I wouldn't mind if you pointed out some of those irritating fairies that can't be taken down in time (we're still talking about Reimu B, right?).

>> No.4354749

>>4354573
She moves to one side and disappears to the other, staying there awhile.

>> No.4354769

>>4354735
Once I got better at unfocused movement (from playing regular shmups) I began to prefer Marisa's speed over the rest. Too bad she's buttshit in MoF and SA.

>> No.4354779

>>4354739
Either Reimu shot. As much as I want to like Reimu B, I've found several times where her power just wasn't enough. I've gotten so used to Marisa's movement speed that Reimu feels too slow to me. Like Yuka slow. The only time Marisa's speed ever messes me up are the first few fairy waves in Extra IF I mess up on the opening.

The fairies I'm talking about are the ones in Sakuya's stage that fire circles of bars of bullets. Neither of Reimu's shots can take these fairies out before they shoot, if memory serves (haven't bothered playing the poor miko in a while outside IN and SA). Marisa can take out multiple (when they appear many at a time) before they unleash, making the dodging much easier.

The best (although hardest to use) character in the game is Marisa C.

>> No.4354784

>>4354777
Is that the one with the placeable shot thing? I could see that being good during stages, but it doesn't seem beneficial enough for how much it distracts me.

>> No.4354801

>>4354739
The movement speed isn't much of a problem and I've been trying to 1cc lunatic. Got a near perfect Sakuya the other day only having to bomb Sakuya's last card. Also reached Scarlet Gensokyo on that run. Also, the EoSD trash mobs are much fiercer on lunatic. Those kedama aimed wave shots in stage four? Don't even think of trying to go around them with Marisa's speed. And a master spark is pretty much required to get past the books without dying or having to bomb more than once. Stage 5 that wave after midboss Sakuya is actually a clusterufck. Stage 6 opener is still formidable even if you're killing all enemies on one side.

>> No.4354825

>>4354801
Actually thanks for mentioning that trashpack after mid-Sakuya. I forgot about that (speaking as the pro-Marisa poster). That actually would be a good spot for Reimu if you're unwilling to bomb that shrapnel-fest.

k last one, back to ufo lunatic practice.

>> No.4355005

>>4354779
Okay, I just go up front and shotgun the fairies dropping in from one side, but even without it's mostly a nonissue. Just wait until they finish firing then move over. In the case of chasing point items they would be bombed anyway.

And here, did a run showing the close-range firepower in action. I understand you can't really pull off half this shit on Lunatic, but I assume most of the discussion to take place around Normal. In the event you do watch it please excuse the multiple HURR moments during much of Sakuya.

>>4354801
Alright, I'll agree that Marisa is easier for a 1CC attempt. I'm guessing you meant Reimu when talking about trying to go around them, but it's very doable if you start from the other end (or on the side of entry to take them out immediately). Also, 90% of the bullets in the post-Sakuya clusterfuck are aimed away from you.

>> No.4355028

>>4355005
I was talking about lunatic. Those lunatic kedama shots are suicidal to go around even with Marisa. Also all that high-screen shotgunning in stage 5 is possible to do in lunatic. It's pretty much a requirement to survive. The waves right before Sakuya you pretty much retreat back down into the bottom of the screen where bullets still are but it's generally possible to do the beginning half of stage 5 without bombing or dying even on lunatic.

I believe that is the EoSD ultra mod which gives EoSD ultra mode. It's basically just a rank hack except for a few particular spellcards which are edited like Cirno's last card is given pellet sprited bubbles and Remilia is given Q.E.D. 500 years. You might be able to find a video playthrough on Nico.

>> No.4356394

>>4355933
Its a bit more than just a rank hack, almost every noncard is super clusterfucked in a way that cant just be rank.
