I've been playing Touhou for about half a week. Thus far my best accomplishment has been almost killing the final boss before my continues ran out, and going the first 3 stages without losing a single life.

On Easy.

Problem is, Level 4 still rapes me hard from time to time, and the final level is just a Zerg Rush of all my remaining lives and bombs. I'd like to finish the game at least once before moving to normal.

I'm moving up to hard and extra myself. Beaten Koishi and Ran, gotten to Kanako's second-to last card on hard, but I think I'm going to work on PCB on hard because it's so damn enjoyable, and I think I could beat it with only one continue without too much trouble. Really, it makes capturing spellcards more satisfying than in any other game.

I've seen Master Sparks and cleared spell cards (where all the bullet are converted to star items and auto-collected) in the middle of a conversation. Shit was trippy.

Seeing bullets after you quit the game is the best part

Ultra mode is when you start seeing paragraphs of text become bullet patterns that you need to find a route through.
