English has some dumb grammar but Japanese can be pretty weird too. It depends what your first language is I guess but Japanese having super simple grammar is really a myth repeated mostly by N5s who just haven't seen anything yet.

As far as I know, it has some really retarded word order, like you have to speak in the third person all the time.
In general the main thing is just how people talk completely differently, it's a lot more indirect compared to European languages, it just lacks European conjugation and cases the same way.

Any of the slavic ones, if we go by the "PIE derived" standard, they all are about 80% the same in terms of vocab, and the grammar i think follows the same structure.
Hungarian and Finnish are unimagineably complicated, but they are more closely related to each other than any other, and they aren't close at all.
As far as I have heard, if you are not native, you stand no chance.

Japanese is really easy if you're not an Anglomutt. Most of the stuff is pretty similar to my native language but with less conjugations/declensions.
