I've said it before but I still think an IN-type game featuring the religious factions would be neat.

Ah, I forgot Marisa! I didn't think to put her in because she's not tied with any of the religious factions. Perhaps that itself should be a faction?

Closest I could see is Yumemi/Chiyuri and that requires stretching. Then again, it's not like the other factions are ideal representations of their own faiths either.

Religions aside, how bout we come up with protag selections with some newer hus/new characters we've never played before?
Kasen/Aunn/Misumaru would be a good trio for Reimu. Okina/Narumi/Takane for Marisa, and Eirin/Kaguya/Tewi (or maybe Junko) for Reisen. Kanako and Suwako are obvious choices for Sanae, as for the third... Koishi, as she was the extra stage midboss in SA, or even Megumu because of her shrine's relation with the tengu? I can't think of any characters for Sakuya and Youmu besides the SDM crew and Yuyuko but I guess touhou games usually don't exceed 4 protags anyways.

I would like a playable Orin with Satori/Koishi/Okuu. and I also wish they would include more manga protagonists apart from Kasen. how about a Cirno playable with Sunny/Luna/Star?

It'd be funny if Reisen's only choices were from among Hecatia/Clownpiece/Junko. Her story would be about her getting inadvertently swept up in participating in their scheme.

I always liked the idea of Suika playing similar to the plane levels in cuphead (shrinking while focused), alternatively she could get paired up with a wide variety of girls like Yukari/Yuyuko, Yuugi/Kasen or Nitori/Aya
