In about 400-500 years, music classes in school will be studying pieces of work created from the "ZUNian" and "Uetmatsuesque" periods.

In English class, we will be reading and studying the works of Nasu, Ryukishi07 and Hideaki Anno. Children will have to do research papers on the various forms of animal imagery, intrigue devices and symbols used in these pieces of literature.

We will also have Gundams. And they will be glorious.

I'm really turned off right now. Nice cat though.

That post you made. It's really cute if you know anything about future technology.

I would not want to live in that world, and I like most of the above.

No, we won't.
In 500 years, you'll get a maths degree for being able to multiply numbers with decimals. Knowing when WW2 ended will be worth a history doctorate and business degrees will be had for about the same thing as now.

>> No.4205792

Gundams will never be practical for any situation.

Fuck off, information technology is boring as shit. At least let us play pretend.

I don't think civilization will last that long.

Maybe not for military uses, but for civilian uses it's very possible and even likely.

Not likely. In 400-500 years I doubt we will even need to read or study any more.

If we haven't wiped ourselves out by that point it's likely we'll have figured out how to insert information directly into our brains rather than synthesize it through books and other media.

The big variable here is "if we haven't wiped ourselves out by then".

No, they're not. The entire gundam universe and everything that made it awesome was propped up by the invention of Minovsky physics. Without it, you have what you see today.

Not necessarily gundams, but mobile suits/mecha are definitely a possibility for stuff like construction and law enforcement. I don't know how you can argue beyond that.

Hmm, I guess they could simplify construction into gigantic lego bricks. Scale the legs down to human size and give paralyzed people the ability to walk.

>> No.4205880

>>4205861

Because a machine used for construction is totally different from a Gundam, which was a military vehicle.
The idea of a mobile suit is retarded if it isn't used for killing people.

What. Information technology has nothing to do with futurism.

Anyway, we'll have Gundams WAY before 400-500 years. try 50 or 100, and that's high-balling it. No, they will never be practical.

>> No.4205916

If civilization lasts long enough, there is a high chance that at some point in the future, Gundams will be practical.

It could be in 10000 years, or even in 100000 years. By that time we probably would have been able to develop the technology that allows a gundam exactly like those in anime to exist.

That is, if there hasn't been a technology invented by that point that has been specifically designed to counter them and prevent them from being useful, which in itself is likely as well.
