Well first off literally anything but >>41784656 , because at the end of the day most artists have no capability to self-host yet alone actually care about it.

Second off those assumptions won't come to pass unless they started targeting content which isn't actively used in transactions, which they aren't.

And third most likely one of the other semi-popular picture upload sites you guys complain about already, or something new which also has several caveats most artists don't give a rip about but (You) do.

There. That's the whole thread summed up for you, just like the last 50 threads of people getting hung up over some legal rewording on pixiv's part.

How does Pixiv get caught up in the credit card drama, while sites like Sankaku gets away with all that crap banned on the TOS using every single monetary transaction provider to sell their gold account?
Is this all on Pixiv wanting to go all global and leaving the their image as a porn site behind, or is Mastercard pushing them?

It's CC processors pushing it, it's just a question of:
1. Explicitness of violation
2. Publicity around said violation

Danbooru, Sankaku, and a number of sites could be in even hotter water than pixiv if they got sufficient attention from processors to get an in-depth investigation. In fact, the whole 4chan/4channel domain split was done with the idea of doing the same thing, but enough people made enough stink to Visa/Mastercard (or Paypal/Stripe) to get that plan snuffed right out of the gate.

pixiv is big enough to get that kind of attention, but also doesn't try to knowingly skirt payment processors' ToS, so they are likely to just determine what exactly they need to do to resolve it with as little damage to their service as possible and implement it.

It's pretty simple, ban all AI-generated stuff and not only you will get rid of the primal chink cancer, but probably not limited to them either but also you will be saving 10's of thousands of artists who are now being burried and discouraged from even doing anything.

How to verify if one is actually drawing their art or if it's done by a machine? Pretty simple.
Make it a REQUIREMENT for anyone who makes content to do pixiv-sketch livestream at least once per month for non-verified artists (because you might as well call someone who posts ai-trash a spambot)
I mean to be reasonable with veteran artists as it would be ridiculus to ask dorontabi to prove he does his own art.

If something questionable would be happening during the livestream users are usually quick to report anything and everything that could cause problems to the communtiy and pixiv a whole, talking a lawsuit which could bring us to darkest scenario of pixiv going 404 or it's entire administration.

Uma Musume lewds are being raked on sight because if they didn't delete them they would be invited to buttfuck nowhere and dealt with their neightbourhood friendly Yakuza. If someone organised a massive amount of trolling and organised ai-made Uma Musume r-18 spam the problem would be solved, along with someone important at pixiv being dissolved in acid right after because they didn't prevent it.

Self hosting is dumb since hosting costs money and you are being pressured by the payment processors who control the flow of money. Even if you set up your own website you still need to use payment systems to earn money, you will also need to pay for shit like cloudflare to protect your site (you will probably have a bunch of people fucking with you for posting content they dislike) and you need to earn a living somehow. This doens't include the fact people need to find and see your website, which doesn't happen anymore because google can bury you and most people use ahandful of big websites like reddit, twitter, etc.

Look at what happened to youtube with demonitisation, was there a big shift? No. All alternative attempts failed as everyone has their balls in a vice when it comes to payment processors.

It's only a matter of time until 4chan dies. You may think it's bullshit but it was the CC companies that wiped thousands of porn videos off the big porn sites, they control the internet and with various governments talking about digital currency it will only get worse.

Fuck, I forgot that I'm fucking old now.

First ever rugpull in crypto history. At the time, MtGox was the first, biggest, and for most purposes, only, bitcoin exchange in the world, handling 70% of bitcoin/fiat swaps. It was headquartered in Shibuya, and the Japanese government made lots of noise about how this was proof that Japan had gotten her mojo back and was gonna dominate the crypto world without help from the West. This being 2008 or so, there were Japanese flip phones being sold with hardware-level MtGox integration so you could pay with crypto over NFC. There was even talk that Satoshi was a MtGox employee.

Then, out of nowhere, the site shut down and took everyone's bitcoin. Japan ended up passing very strict laws to prevent it from happening again, none of the money was ever really recovered, and the 2011 earthquake the next year threw all this discussion onto the back burner and started Japan's slow transition to smartphones and social media, which would lock her into America's tech ecosystem.

I remember these! This was back during that time that Japanese cell phones were running easily 10 years ahead in terms of features and everyone was running around contactless paying for everything from their phones, which was lots of fun. Bitcoin was just another kind of that payment, really.

The only crypto I've ever used to buy stuff in present times is Monero, and that's basically only used by people selling drugs and other illegal things on the darknet, with no other adoption; good luck convincing people to use that.

It's both amusing and kind of alarming how basically everyone in the internet who's aware of pixiv is talking about this with the worst expectations due to how retarded they were to copy paste Visa's ToS in their announcement, instead of linking to their own or making it clear what exactly is the issue they're facing.
I pray they're noticing all the buzz around this topic and either a second announcement to calm people down or the actual ToS update comes out sooner rather than later.

>> No.41789154

>how retarded they were to copy paste Visa's ToS in their announcement
This reminds me of a story from the Allied Occupation.

During the war, Japanese newspapers were heavily censored, and so before the paper went to print, someone from the government would put literal pieces of paper over the proof to show what had to be taken out. The newspapers just blanked out that part of the proof and replaced it with the word "CENSORED".

The Allies come in, and of course demand their own censorship of Japanese newspapers. So the newspapers run their proofs past the allies, get the censorship instructions, and then print it the same way, with the word "CENSORED" over huge parts of the paper. The Allies get furious, and call in the newspaper editors, explaining to them that they didn't want readers to KNOW that the content was being censored.

"So what do we call it, then?" said the editors.
"I don't know," said the Allied GHQ guy; "say something like that you 'voluntarily restrained from publishing it', if anyone asks".

The next day, newspapers came out in Tokyo with massive areas blanked out, replaced by the large word "VOLUNTARILY RESTRAINED".

To this day, "voluntary restraint", or 自主規制 in Japanese, is used to describe some form of censorship or restriction that isn't officially acknowledged but that everyone knows exists.

Without being able to monetize it, it's not going to be made in the first place. You straight out just do not understand where your fap art is coming from. Two, carefully re-read their announcements, they say that anyone who continues to upload this kind of art will have it privated. Porn drawn in the style of children, with the characters referred to as children, with people talking about fucking said children (Using terms like little boy/girl (Just go read *booru comments)) is always, ALWAYS going to come off as creepy and disgusting to anyone that isn't an internet basement dweller. You'd have to live under a rock to never expect it to come under intense scrutiny and eventually attack.
>Artists driven off the platform.
>Where will they end up?
Who knows. I do know that they will survive, however, and most art that has and will be deleted is saved both locally and on other image hosts. Human history is adapting to problems that arise.

Just another bump in the road IMO.

You aren't even legally allowed to sell a drawing of a dick in Japan without being fined or imprisoned. A fucking drawing.
Like really think about how ridiculous that is and how serious of an offence it is there to this very day.

And no, before any faggots come here and say it was the Americans that forced them to put that into their constitution. THEY'VE HAD 70 FUCKING YEARS TO CHANGE IT and they've only strengthened censorship overtime and allocated even more resources to shit like the Internet Hotline Center. That shit didn't exist when they were occupied by the US. They did that themselves.
The Internet Hotline Center is not even part of the Government, yet the Japanese gave them power to censor people and interpret the fucking law. That's fucking insane. The IHC is the reason why Pixiv started to require complete mosaics instead of the less intrusive black bars that artists often use. Other sites aren't even required to do go that far. But Pixiv bends over backwards for the IHC and is fucking terrified to fight on behalf of artists or artistic expression.

Very likely, all you need to do is make a script to access the site every so many seconds. Script kiddies do that shit all the time. That could work, providing that against all odds and current situation with crypto wouldn't discourage people to use it over there. Which is why a token system few layers deep like

1. Buy said *Token*
2. Redeem it to get [whatever] *Coins*
3. Addationally you'd receive *Points* for reviewing art or from the artist themselves and depending on their ratings, follower count, even *page views*. Important would be for people to have feature where they could redeem them should they choose to lurk only but at a reasonable exchange ratio which would not be abused to simply yoink most expensive works from an artist.

(as many people might be too shy to let the world know they are into something or are too busy holding their dick instead etc.

The Coins that you either got with Tokens buying them on your own or have been granted some by the artists themselves.
The coin currency would need to work both ways, with the difference that the artists would be able to buy Tokens with their

They do not fuck them because it makes them feel good, they have no concept of understanding consciousness (read: feelings) as we do and it's beyond us how it turned out this way, but surely /x/ will tell you 10000000000 different conspiracy theories that show how we actually evolved to current state.

>I see things completely differently, what you're calling "pedophilia" is just a weird fetish for specific kinds of art
No, that's not how it works. Lolicon is literally synonymous with pedophile in Japanese. Every single dictionary confirms it. It is not a weird fetish that only exists in 2D like you ironics make it out to be.
>For me, pedophiles are people who want to, or are OK with, harming children.
You don't get to define what pedophilia is. Pedophilia means attraction to children. That's all it means. It has nothing to do with harming children.
>Identifying as a pedophile because you like uoooh stuff is like identifying as a murderer because you like slasher movies
Murder is a crime.
Pedophilia is not.
Why is this so hard for you ironics?
Also for your information, the guy who started the UOHHHH meme (Dorontabi/Mammoth) is an open pedo who has:
>called pedophile a compliment
>retweeted pictures of Kimura Hazuki, a real-life junior idol
>said he misses Candydoll and junior idol stuff

That's not what I said; I said that you don't want to harm children. Going on about how the word is the same in Japanese ignores that lolicons/pedos in Japan, however you want to call them, do not harm children in any large number.

You are right. Over the years i've come to realization that only way to have lolicon stuff accepted is to relax the stigma around the real thing. It will always be associated with actual pedophilia no matter how loud lolicons scream that they are completely unrelated(they'r not). I can confirm this used to be THE norm in my country two generations ago. Most people(especially women) would marry in their teens. Of course age of marriage and AoC kept getting raised as we embraced western culture more and more. My grandparents tell me stories how kids back then weren't as valued because people kept shitting children, there were about 5-10 of them for each family on rural areas especially and that today's kids are really spoiled and receive everything from their parents. I don't see why it can't be reversed back as this is mainly a cultural thing and most of the outrage i believe is artificial because some powerful people make it their goal to globally push back against traditional marriages and push for AoC via activist groups like feminists, bribe politicians to pass laws and fund media corporations to push their ideals.

Not really relevant here/you should really look at Japan's history of harumphing about porn regardless of America's influence. They have an incredibly long history of blaming media for crimes or just saying it's indicative of degeneracy. Obviously. Don't put America on some magic pedestal, people can morally aggrandize all on their own without some insidious influence. Thankfully, perverts make money in Japan, so like anywhere the harumphing really just winds up largely being political plays in order to try to garner attention/favor

By the way I don't think Shinkai, a popular hack, should be indicative of much of anything anyway.

Yes, but pontificating about long-gone edicts from the 1600's (ignoring that most of the Edo period was drowning in mass produced smut) or laws drawn up in the 1890's (which most artists ignored) or wartime censorship (openly challenged by 1943) or Allied-inspired/imposed censorship (that became something of a joke by the 1980's) doesn't change the fact that the current regime of censorship in Japan since circa 2016 has been pushed by large global banks and ESG funds and their pets in America, not by anything remotely native to Japan. They've also been a lot more successful; imagine a lewd artist in 1670 or 1890 or 1950 saying that he felt scared or ashamed looking at his own work.
