I understand the reason why ZUN wanted to make this story, chasing a powerful evil spirit around is a good excuse for worldbuilding and characterization with the cast. But holy shit, he really should have put more thought into the story itself, I feel that many things simply don't make any sense. Maybe he wanted to try a different tone/mood, I don't know. Worldbuilding and characterization shown so far are great but at this point I really feel that he should have made just another slice of life manga, there is no shame in that.

The thing that pisses me off is that both points could be reasonably explained, like maybe Sanae could have been possessed the very moment they find the gods on the ground, or maybe she waited for someone (Suwako in this case) because she knew that Hatate was watching her after reading the paper so she didn't possess Aya.
But both are pure headcanon because neither are shown or explained, so I can only just assume that it's all a coincidence left from the very messy writing of a very drunk man.

So, Hatate believes Mizuchi is already aware of her and her powers and movements, her evidence being that Mizuchi took advantage of her newspaper to fool Aya.
But then we see that Mizuchi didn't actually give a shit about Aya at all and already moved on to Suwako, meaning Aya's movements may as well have been coincidence.
What I'm getting from this is that there's still a chance for Satori to use Hatate's abilities to their advantage like Satori initially thought, but the chapter didn't end up making this connection so it's probably going to be swept under the rug with just that one line of Hatate (plausibly mistakenly) thinking she had been compromised.

Scoow features multiple doujins for the sake of promoting artists, ZUN doesn't write any of them and they're strictly non canon. In fact, he's done this before with a book called Seasonal Dream Vision, tons of fanmade stories but only what he wrote is deemed canon, because otherwise the yuri ship stories the fan artists made would also be canon.

This isn't unique to ZUN, other people like the creator of Higurashi also publish compilations of non-canon fanworks of their own franchises. It's just something people do for the sake of exposing the fanbase and promoting doujinshi artists.

There are plenty of ways detective stories can work with the supernatural as long as you clearly define what the supernatural is capable of. I remember reading some doujin that explores such concepts such as Keine killing someone and eating her history, then Momiji tries to find out who the victim was by clues that were missing in people's daily routine. Unfortunately, Gensokyo isn't a setting incapable of writing mystery, ZUN is.

Reimu, and no one even comes close
This one is hard because anyone at Aya's level and above have chances against each other depending on situations and match ups. Take PoFV for example, where Yuuka is the only one with clean victory against Reimu, but got destroyed by Medicine who got trashed by Aya who previously lost to Yuuka. 17.5 too, where Okina who is arguably Gensokyo's strongest requested Flandre's help to defeat Yuuma because Flandre counters her ability. Its probably why Gensokyo has no true ruler, but every territory have its one authorative figure looking over it (Mountain/Tengu, Netherworld/Yuyuko, Village/Reimu etc)
Hecatia or Okina. While Zun did said no one is close to Hecatia, what he said is before HSiFS. Okina is also a badass for each appearances she made, she dont act mysterious or shit like that, she simply tells you she can create a new being out of nothing and can delete an entire species if she feels like it, and as quoted by Aya, she can defeat the protags in the extra easily again if she feels like it

If you take that source from Akyuu, you should know Yukari is her editor for that particular book, and she exaggerated Yukari the furthest. If we are talking about legendary, its easily Remilia who managed to force a contract between her and Gensokyo's youkais for permanent food supply, and was the whole reason Spellcard rules are made in the first place. Yukari has literally zero achievements other than helping to set up the barrier

That's easy to explain. Spellcard battles don't mean shit regarding power level, they are precisely what causes things like Medicine beating Yuuka or anyone being able to beat Hecatia. They explicitly were made for the sake of ignoring power levels and give anyone a fair chance at winning a type of duel. Imagine if these big mafia bullies were coming to give you a trashing for missing out on a paymen but you remind them that disputes are solved in Yugioh duels around these parts and they can't say no, that's pretty much what spellcard rules do in Gensokyo.

Although I don't want it to end so soon, I don't see any logic in continuing to include characters from more games. unless it is explained that Mizuchi's goal is to take possession of some powerful character like Okina or Hecatia in order to become the ruler of Gensokyo (or its destroyer).
Anyway, I hope Koishi shows up, just because I want to see how she interacts with Satori. Are they affectionate sisters as the fandom portrays them or are they more of a passive-aggressive style like the Scarlet sisters?

An event at a school hall that was being streamed on Youtube, I thought about how it was rare to have something so interesting happen on youtube. Laomoto Khan, who was maybe Cthulu, was the organiser. Various shows were organised, I remember me playing danmaku against Yukari, dodging her non-spell where she forces you up against the wall, while she was facing away with her ass outlined through her dress. Eternity, Cirno and Lily were representing the seasons, Autumn being missing was probably inspired by the doujin "Seasons Lit with Gold"
