I don't mind if she stays the way she is if she lets her hair grow long.

Will take a couple of moults.
She hasn't even grown her adult wings yet.

Looking good. Would there happen to be a treatise on naval magical warfare in the works?

Indeed. And with a full account of the Lunarian Drive Yards set in our Asteroid fields - the source of all the raw material used on the Moon for construction, weapons manufacturing, shipbuilding, and such.

Don't look now, but after watching the movies Potemkin, Titanic and Poseidon back-to-back, I entertained the idea of writing a short segment about an ill-fated Lunarian battleship that is destroyed beyond repair on her first extrasolar cruise.

Then I will read with my inner eye, and muse on the vanishing of the astral knight until then.

Actually, there are certain species that secrete some sort of "milk" over their eggs as a method of feeding. Tsetse flies and Diploptera genus of cockroaches do this. Twisted-wing parasites and gall midges feed on their mother's blood, though that isn't really milk. No firefly does it as far as I know, though, and even if they did, the glands are modified versions of accessory glands normally used to form the egg, so it would be within the body.

Many leaf-sucking insects as well as caterpillars have a sweet, sugary poop well liked by ants, but that comes from the anus. Cockroaches also have a gland on their backs that secretes pheromones, which the female licks during intercourse, but males possess that one.
