Since eraMegaten has so many things happening at the same time with some of the Extras especially having a ton of work put into them by their authors, sometimes I end up looking ahead to make sure I don't accidentally break something, especially when it comes to the endings.

Just looking at the Revue Starlight storyline on the JP eraMegaten wiki, it kind of makes me a bit concerned about how I can do a 'true completion' of this one. Would it be best to commit to the Revue Starlight Extra quests from the very first run, while pursuing a full Non-Trained Trust/Affection run? It looks like the author had coded in one of the characters for Revue Starlight to such that even if you NG+, she remembers what you've done (mostly via the number of humans/demons you've trained into submission/obedience), and will impact your ability to complete her story while maintaining her Brilliance, unless you manually edit your save game to remove a flag that gets set.

In that sense, it makes me wonder how people would feel if the author for Akyu in TohoTW was set up in the same way, in that she would actively go against you on subsequent NG+'s once she's aware of what you've done (instead of the current 'knows due to her ability but does mostly nothing about it')

I used to never do those random requests as well because I thought they caused time to pass, but they don't so I started doing them every segment of the day. If you don't care for either the Messiahs or Gaians, you can keep rejecting the requests until a neutral (client/enemies aren't Messiah/Gaian) comes up to do. The neutral requests that aren't about beating a specific named person tend to be against full party enemies, with a few being multi-battle as well. Pretty much free exp/loyalty to gain especially with Combat Enhancements turned up if your party is pretty high level.

It's going to happen either way due to how the AI decides when to attack and how to defend (aka just throw big number at target until it works or fails miserably). All you can do is try to delay it as long as you can by playing one of the two scenarios in which everyone starts with 1 city and 1 officer (ruler only), and then characters will eventually trickle in to them. But this sort of play is extremely risky if you play with Special Factions and do not turn on Generic Officer recruitment, because you might end up with the Specials snowballing by rolling over their extremely neighbours, because they won't have enough officers to protect themselves even at Strength 1. But those that survive long enough will be able to handle them with ease later on, unless you also set Strength 2 and 3 Specials and they happen to spawn first.

The other thing that contributes greatly to AI snowballing is the troop recruitment speed and cap. Since AI isn't smart enough to know which officers to send to combat based on the skills they have, often they'll send like say 20000 troops against 3000 with killer officers and totally decimate all 20000 troops. The troop recruitment speed is so low that the AI won't be able to replenish those losses in time while rounding up whatever they recruit every turn to throw at the invading armies, often leading to a death spiral. Not to mention that the AI often doesn't know when to disband an army to raise a new one, especially if 'Army A' is very tired and low on troops due to invading and they have enough officers to raise a fresh 'Army B'. Troops do not take a turn or two to return to the Troop Reserve (unlike officers when their army is disbanded), so if the AI knew how to utilise this properly and actually raise defence troops properly, each cycle would last significantly longer. Probably more annoying though because it'd require certain officers/skills to turn the tide, which again the AI has no idea how to make use of beyond 'atk/def/int stat high = army officer material'.

Of course, one way to 'fix' this is that via good NG+ planning (convert all your money to items the turn before the cycle ends so that you can sell it all for the money you deserve instead of bringing only 1/5 of actual money), you can choose to eventually train every character to S-tier officer material via cheap training when at the start of those '1 city 1 officer' scenarios and giving them all the deadly skills if you can. Of course, it does mean every NG+ you do where they end up being on the opposing side, they could give you hell instead. the short answer is no, the long answer is yes but only if you're willing to intervene. i have a run right now at turn 120 with 16 factions still going and 1 SP faction still not appearing which would make 17, the SP factions are all set to 5* and i'm playing on hard too. basically i bounced from faction to faction early on putting super growth potential and hard worker on as many officers as i could afford, same with the quick witted trait which can be gotten from an explore quest or the hypnotist daily, all of which help boost stats and growth and occasionally interfered to help a faction if i could

2 things to mention are that although i could be wrong and didn't actually test this but i get the impression higher difficulties might help the AI so consider that if you haven't already. second is adding on to what anon said here >>40628062 about skills, another thing that really fucks over the AI is having officers imprisoned since losing good officers helps accelerate that death spiral they get stuck in. if you can pop some of the better escape skills onto officers that should also make a huge difference. nue has the best skill to help everyone escape and aya/elis/seija have some of the best individual escape skills

The only thing I don't like about playing the K games on a higher difficulty is that it gradually makes everyone hate your faction for merely existing. If you want to drag out a cycle as long as possible however that is one way you could do it if there's a faction snowballing - join them on the highest difficulty and everyone will come to hate them real fast, even their allies.

That said, I don't like that in TohoK, if you're an officer under an AI faction the AI stops performing any sort of diplomacy and only hires soldiers. I assume it's so that the decision is left to (You), but it seems like a TohoK-specific thing as your ruler will freely conduct diplomacy in FGO-K and AL-K. AL-K does let you 'control' your faction as an officer (from the Policy to fleet (army) movements) if you want to, so maybe that sort of approach should've been put in for TohoK as well.

that sounds more like a you problem than anything else. the only time i ever had a problem with everyone hating me was probably my first time playing when as soon as battle was enabled i was immediately hit with a coalition and died a few turns later, ever since then i learned how to manage relations and have the opposite problem where everyone ends up liking me. for starters pay attention to daily events and explore events if you do them and watch out for ones that lower your reputation like that one where your soldiers are pillaging, doing that will screw you over pretty fast. there's also some that will help you but i usually disable them so i don't remember them too well. if you really need extra help you can also donate to factions or use the auto donate function, every little bit can help. and if you capture their officers release them without demanding anything in return, if you take territory you don't want to keep give it to someone, basically anything from the diplomacy menu that isn't a demand is good for you in some way. you can also do things like for example if faction A takes an officer of faction B prisoner, you demand that officer as a hostage and then just give them back to faction B, you might not even lose relations making that demand from faction A if their ruler loves or is enslaved by you or with luck and even if you do lose relations it might be worth it if they already like you enough. the final thing is factions will constantly spread rumors about you good or bad which is based on how they currently feel about you, so if no one cares about you but one faction decides to spread bad rumors, if might spiral into everyone hating you, while the opposite is just as true

the other thing you can do is better learn to manage being coalitioned against or otherwise being ganged up on. in my current file one SP faction appeared with about 100k troops which dwarfed pretty much what everyone else had and they put 90k into a single unit that steamrolled everywhere they went. what would you do if faced with that while only having say 20k troops? well you can just let them take any territory they want and take it back after they leave or just fuck off and let that become someone elses problem, but you can also just send waves of shitty leaderless 500 soldier units and keep them essentially stunlocked for as long as you want since each unit can only make one or two attacks per turn. this is especially effective if say 5 units are coming to you via a relay and one unit is especially strong or you can't take more than one at a time or whatever, when units are coming towards you a single unit is enough to delay them so you can send 4 units, let one through and just take them one at a time

the wave tactic also has another way to be abused as an XP treadmill. basically, whenever you do battle you have a chance to get randomly level a skill and this chance dramatically goes up when you have any xp boost skill such as super growth potential/hard worker/quick witted. so say your enemy sends a unit of 3 officers with xp boost skills and you send six 500 soldier units that get wiped out, that enemy unit has a decent chance of gaining a total of around 18 skill points between all 3 officers, this is also a cheap way to easily level stats beyond 100 when the required xp starts to become impossibly high. why waste time doing this? well better stats will help your opposing factions survive longer if that's your goal but you can also strengthen characters before they join you
