Greetings, /jp/. I'm trying to run touhou on linux with wine, but I can't get the dialog to display. Rather than actually showing the text, it just shows a blank text box. I'm doing this on a fresh install of arch, and I've configured wine by using "winetricks winxp allfonts allcodec d3dx9"; however I've also tried with a fresh .wine with the same results. What am I doing wrong? Am I missing a font or something? Pic very much related. I've tested th06 through th08 and the result is the same.

I just tested touhou 8 with my current setup for you. No problems.
Ubuntu 9.10, wine 1.1.33, Openbox, Language/Locale set to Japanese, playing the non-translated version.

Figures; I've seen a lot of reports of touhou working, so I had hopes it'd work on my config too. I'm running wine 1.1.35, so we're fairly close version-wise. The only thing I can think of possibly being different on my setup is the fact that I have an intel chipset. Suppose I could be using an incompatible rendering method or something? -That, or perhaps arch does something odd with its wine distribution. In any case, thanks for the effort.

Debian fag here, my text in EOTSD has always showed up correctly. I've done a lot with my .wine directory over the years so I can't really say it's stock.
