Her finding someone that didn't abandon her(Shiki is exactly what she wanted from the guy she crushed on when she was little). Forgiveness and making sense of tragedy. They could go a lot of directions and probably explore something darker within Shiki's character since Shiki has some inhumanness to him. She's honestly a very good character and the few anthology that take her serious are really some of the best. She deserves a full route to really give her story a sense of weight. I really hope they don't miss the chance to tell it in a Cero-Z rating. It could get so dark and bloody.

This sounds like a good compromise to me. The maid routes can be the more grounded ones while the other two are more flashy. The OG Akiha had potential with the Shiki vs SHIKI fight at the end. No reason Nasu can't up the ante on that one a little more.

So what was Nero's hotel massacre for? I get it that he looks inhuman enough to not be able to just walk up to Arc's door but it seems like such a waste to make a huge mess like that only to retreat when she's probably a single blow away from being done in, just because dawn was breaking. Vampires don't like the sun, but surely he could have toughed it out for a couple minutes. Couldn't he just climb in through a window or something?

Also lol @ Shiki having his arm chomped on by a dogbeast only for the dog to not even puncture his skin and have him walk it off like it was nothing.

Moreover, how did the police not even question them about the massacre? Arc was bleeding profusely and Shiki was soaked in the chaotic mud. They hardly looked like as if they slept through the whole thing, especially as the sole survivors they should have had someone ask questions about the whole thing.

No real way of knowing that. For all we know, back then, Dead Apostles die instantly under the sun. Might have been changed later, but back then…

If I remember correctly it was because he pierced a line of death at the same time the dog but him, and that was enough to momentarily prevent deadly injury.

They got off the hotel before the police got there, so they were, effectively, unknown to them. (Even if they *had* met with the police, a glance from Arc’s eyes would solve their issues).

Narratively? It was meant to be the first meeting with an antagonist, creating a stronger relationship between reader, character and enemy.
It also set up stakes and power levels for the real confrontation, when all that comes into play and we already know what we are getting into.

I guess, though the way Arc hyped him up to Shiki made it sound as if he wasn't the sort of vampire to dissolve just because he was exposed to sunlight. Even the Stokerian type of vampire that she describes the Dead Apostles as don't die from the sun outright, IIRC the only real penalty Dracula suffers from sunlight is having his supernatural abilities stripped from him.

Did they? The massacre happens soon before dawnbreak and the VN makes it sound like they stayed in their room until sunset to recover before going to the park to have their showdown with Nero. Even if they didn't bail immediately, the massive commotion the massacre must have caused surely would have had the hotel on police lockdown that they couldn't bypass unless they teleported. Was the different hotel room CG meant to imply that they switched hotels right away? But like I said, even then they would have had to bypass the police swarming the hotel.

So it was for sustenance? But Arc did say that humans are pretty poor nourishment for a vampire compared to wild animals. But the sheer quantity of people consumed probably made that meaningless.

Not really, IIRC he gets the knife out of the dog's skull with his other hand and pierces the dog's chest (its point of death) afterward. The text made it sound like he was almost elbow-deep in the dog's maw.

He didn’t insta kill the dogg, but just piercing and tracing a line of death affects a living being. He pierced the dog’s skull, preventing it from fully closing in on his arm. (This is not even considering possible “death” effects)

I don't think Shiki actually cut a line on the second dog. He just let killer instinct take over and shoved it through the dogs skull. It did obviously impede the action of closing the jaws(sticking your arm in an dogs mouth should at least hamper it some). That said, it's teeth DID leave marks and he did receive some damage. Just not nearly as badly as he was thinking since his fear had dramatically heightened his thoughts on the matter. The blood was mostly from the hole he punched in the monsters skull. The first dog on the other hand had it's point pierced after it hit his throat. The emphasis is on how skilled a kill it is and how piercing a point invalidates all action and prevented the fangs from actually completing the motion.

Nanaya instincts are basically peak predator. More than any other character he gives off themes of having a bestial subconscious. It's usually when Shiki lets reason get the better of him that he gets bad ended like when instead of instantly murdering Roa in the last days of Arc route he lets curiosity and a desire to see who it is stall his assault.
