Nasu has already stated that the MEoDP cannot kill servants and the like as they are nothing/don't exist.
He reffered to them as an error in the system were something that no longer exists, "exists" even though it really doesn't exist.
They are already dead, and the world tries to follow up with the result of them truly being dead, thus the huge prana requirement in order to sustain them.
As they aren't really real they kind of doesn't have a concept of anything, let alone a concept of death considering that they are already dead, and none-existant on top of that.

That would basically be the same as rule breaker, though servants doesn't die the moment that connection is severed with the exception of berserker.
And that bond can be re-established later on anyway.

Though I am not really sure if shiki could understand the concept of death/severing magic, granted that he doesn't have any magic knowledge.
