I don't read books.

It's pretty hard to imagine any character from a Turtledove novel as an animu character with saucer-sized eyes.

>> No.3895904

My imagination is not robust enough to make an image clear enough to differentiate between anime and realistic people.

>> No.3895905

No I imagine them in film noir style.

Or if it has had a movie that I enjoyed the style of the movie.

>> No.3895913

I read The Brothers Karamozov, The sun Also Rises, and all H.P. Lovecraft stories that way.

>> No.3895915

Besides the vampires assistant series anyway which had a manga which I read some of before picking up the novel series.

They were animued up.

I just don't like reading books any more man. Would rather read a VN.

>> No.3895926

Twilight is surprisingly tolerable when you genderswap everyone and imagine them as anime characters. Yandere stalker Edward, fuck yes.

Real literature is significantly better than what an over feed gook shits out for cash.

>> No.3895950

>>3895926
if you imagine Edward as the truck from the beginning its even better.

Though anime twilight is basically any shoujo vampire series ever.

i do, any problem with that?

I guess. But I have a hard time lying in bed reading. It feels like I'm wasting the day, even though that really isn't much different from being on the computer. I did buy a book recently though.

No, but I will from now on.

I'd watch it.

If it wasn't for that sunlight gimmick and the way you can see the vampire's reflections in the mirrors.

So I'm not the only one.
Actually I did this reading during every Dostoyevsky's novel I read.
For some reasons, I can imagine his characters in an anime style pretty easily.

I bet all your "real literature" is a horrible pile of nonsense.

I have trouble doing that too. I still like to read while taking a shit, but unfortunately I'm an olympic medal speed shitter.

>> No.3895995

I did this for Great Expectations, mainly because I kept on thinking of Estella as a kuudere.

Also, for certain sci-fi novels. Neuromancer and Snow Crash animu must be made.

Everything else, though, no. It's hard to equate Steinbeck and Faulkner with anime.

>> No.3896001

>>3895968
Don't even try it. It becomes progressively worse until you start imagining shit like Femur-tan having a lesbian threesome with sisters Tibia-tan and Fibula-tan while reading anatomy books.

Popping random boners during classes is no fun.

>> No.3896002

I pretty much never read a book, but when I do I imagine the characters as real people.

But the last time I read a book must've been before I was even into animu shit.

>> No.3896003

I really don't. I will try next time I read a bit of Cryptonomicon.

I usually don't deliberately imagine. I just read (or listen, I like audiobooks) and let images spontaneously generate. These are sometimes quite vivid, such that they embed themselves into memory, and at a later time emerge unexpectedly, and for a second I wonder what film or game did I see that in.

Crime and Punishment was full of HNNNNNNNG characters. I don't remember her name, but the woman that the main character married at the end of the novel was so moe~

I see what you did there and it made me sick.

You know, I've been reading less and less fiction ever since Touhou gave me a lesbian fetish. I can hardly get interested in anything starring a dude these days.

These days I'm only interested in stories starring lesbians or custom/AFGNCAAP characters. Outside of games, I guess that boils down to... yuri manga and Calvino's If on a Winter's Night a Traveler. Shit.

>> No.3896058

Nope, never did.

>> No.3896111

I do, I'm surprised not many other people do so

I don't as I don't really visualize anything while reading unless I'm actively trying to do so.

What about... your own life?

Don't remind me. Why can't I be an innocent schoolgirl holding hands with a female senior while blushing, or feeling safe and loved in her embrace?

;_;

I think that's what /jp/ secretly yearns for, more than sex. If all us were turned into young girls this moment, much more innocent blushing would occur than wild sex, thanks to this coupled with general social awkwardness of /jp/ residents.

>> No.3896164

That's the same as me. I remember when I was a child being initially confused when I first heard people talking about how they visualized the characters in books. I kept the fact that I didn't a well hidden secret though, so as not to appear out of the ordinary.

They're still imagining terribly perverse things in their minds.
Everyone's a sex crazed pervert really, it's just nowadays people are able to be more open about their sexuality. So long as it doesn't deviate from the prevalent social norms of course.
