I'm all down for more Nanaya tech representation. I like how many of his moves are some tech or another, like his DP and followup kick or he has a lot of leg/body strikes/concepts going on in his toolkit like the fastfall and slides. Even his throw is stylized with a full flip and the manga did a good job of portraying that all in his fighting style. He's very fluid and the idea that he's appearing from blindspots even though you're fighting him up front like Kiri comes through good. As for Tohno, it kind of makes sense that some of his moves are either the same as Nanaya or impromptu variations of the arts since even in the VN it was his trump card to pull from his past as a Nanaya and we know the tech is in his subconscious. Nanaya's super basically being the same is probably a reference to Shiki's 17 dissections. It's probably a Nanaya technique utilizing the eyes. Back when Nanaya had the MEoDP he had the same thing and it was described as him sneaking up on his target as an assassin of demons and instantly delivering a flurry of fatal attacks. Later versions of Nanaya that lost the eyes got a different but similar attack to compensate so the intent seems pretty clear.

You definitely think of the Nanaya when you hear it but they weren't swordsman or known for some strange sword stance. They were assassins based around full body taijutsu and their weapon was irrelevant since their ability let them dissect with a blunt object as efficiently as with a blade. The reason they were likened to spiders is because of their unique asaassination arts revolving around control of their body motion(Such as when Shiki likens Nanaya to a spider since he can retreat without moving his legs as if the ground itself is moving), blinding limb speed(Which leads into numerous techniques) and control of three-dimensional space that let them freely use ceilings and walls in combat like a spider as seen against Akiha. They often were referred to as beasts as well due to their odd movement and physical prowess. Like when Nanaya closes in so low to the ground his hands can touch the ground and ignoring human physical limitations by instantly vanishing and appearing near Shiki or attacking the neck from below Shiki's knees. Shirou has his ideals, the memory of Saber in Fate, Rin in UBW and his revigorated ideals, and Sakura in HF.

Fate was Shirou trying to make someone happy, Saber, the basement scene in Fate revolves wholly around the knife Kirei stabs in Shirou's old scars by revealing that all the orphans that got taken in from the church while he got adopted by Kiritsugu were turned into living corpses, drained of all their fluids for the sake of keeping Gilgamesh in this world. One of the most powerful lines in the VN is when Kirei says "That is right, Emiya Shirou. If you had not been taken by Emiya Kiritsugu, you would have been one of them. Do you understand? You alone survived, once again." Yet despite all the new guilt washing over him, Shirou rejects using the Grail to change the past, a powerful affirmation of his strength of character, one that helps Saber change her mind on her own wish to alter the past. But in the end, in Last Episode, Saber also wished for his happiness and both accomplished a miracle to be happy together. Nasu bothered to show this and added their little happy ending.

UBW was the opposite of Fate in someone is trying to help Shirou, that's Rin, so the date and all is for Shirou, rather than Saber. But the major issue is that Nasu doesn't bother to write them as happy together and real equals, not just allies in the battlefield, but Shirou making something for Rin or Rin claiming they'll be happy together. He adds that in FHA (if it's not a guest writer) and pretty much says the relationship hasn't changed. It's all about Shirou. Nothing about Rin. It's a stagnant relationship that is very onesided. If you like those kind of relationships, more power to you, but don't think they are equals in any sense in their romantic relationship. Archer covers the half of pertaining to the flaws in Shirou's ideals and how they brought him nothing but suffering and Gilgamesh covers the half pertaining to Shirou's ideal being borrowed from another. Together, they fulfill the "final idealistic boss" role that Kirei holds in HF.

HF was the character completely break down as he is forced to realize that living up to the ideals he had cherished would require killing the person he values the most, Sakura. The knife scene is basically the lowest the character falls throughout the entire VN and the story concludes by having Shirou battle Kirei to the death, a dark and twisted mirror image of our protagonist, both distorted by their inability to experience regular human happiness and their views that they are sinners. Yet while one has chosen to keep walking his old path, the other has chosen to abandon it for the sake of his own happiness. Shirou had restored himself a bit thanks to Sakura before the events of the war, she was the reason he stopped being depressed because of Kiritsugu, so she was his emotional anchor and never noticed until he nearly loses her. Sakura and Shirou both go through a mindbreaking process for each other. While the focus is on Shirou, in the end it's the cooperation of everyone to rescue Shirou: Illya, Rider, Sakura and Rin. Shirou looking forward to a date not just to make someone happy but make himself happy is an example of "being happy together" like a couple. In the end, the true one, they finally go to enjoy the cherry blossoms.

Again, that isn't heroism, that is selfishness. Just because that's what most people would do doesn't mean it is the heroic act, quite the contrary actually as a hero is someone who would do the extraordinary and hard choices for the greater good. The answer to the question depends on whether you like Sakura or not. If you like her, then definitely the answer is no, it's ok and nothing should be removed. Sakura's charm to many people (at least from discussions with them through the years) is that she is able endure a lot of shit while also maintaining her sanity (unlike Kohaku for example who became toxic and manipulative), and taking away any part of the abuse she received will also take away from that.
On the other hand if you don't like her that much, then yes. I find the dick worms laughably silly and Sakura's rape very badly foreshadowed, even more because what she went through and how people see her in universe don't match well in my imagination. Also part of it is from Nasu's rape fetishes, and anyone argues against this is just delusional.
I find Kohaku and Fujino's backstories are better handled than hers, even though I find Sakura more compelling as a character.

As long as the author writes abuse well then I’m fine with it. Nasu isn’t perfect at it and went to far with the worm stuff with Sakura, but he’s good at portraying characters dealing with abuse. Shinji’s abuse of Sakura is realistic and him blackmailing her over it so that Sakura doesn’t find out is brutal and realistic. So is Sakura feeling that it’s her fault that it happened and feeling shame about it in general is common in abuse victims. Kohaku’s abuse is also dark and done right as it doesn’t show the abuse itself and it makes Kohaku’s character tragic but that isn’t all her character is about. Nasu knows not to use that abuse as a way to motivate the MC as it’s used for the victims and their story. An author that does this poorly is Reki who is the author of SAO. He uses this tropes repeatedly to motivate the MC and to vilify the antagonist but that’s as far as the trauma goes. Comparing him to Nasu with this topic is night and day. My issues is less with her agency within the plot and more with how little she and Shirou directly impact one another. Shirou abandons his ideals because Sakura is in trouble, not because she convinces him to do so - this isn't nearly as compelling as in the Saber and Rin romances where one partner seeks to change something about the other and being forced to make a realization about themselves after the two really come to understand each other (although there is some value in Sakura feeling guilty over the inner turmoil she is causing Shirou). And I think this is the main issue - Shirou and Sakura never seem to come to understand each other as the other two pairings because Shirou's character is explored in the two routes. Sakura never finds about the fire and Shirou just never seems to realize how deep Sakura's resentment of Rin goes - the Day 11 conversation as she goes to bed illustrates this as he completely zones out due to horny when she talks about her inferiority complex toward Rin. It's also silly how despite his trying to help the sisters reconcile midway through the route Shirou ends up contributing nothing to the resolution between them in the end. Ultimately the flashiest and most in your face of the romances ends up falling flat due to how superficially Shirou and Sakura understand the other in comparison to the other couples.

Yes, it's overkill, but that's part of her character. Sakura endured it for years and never let Zouken take control of her, enduring it was the only thing she could do, and she did it. She was still trying to fight the corruption even when Angra Mainyu was trying to take control of her, and even after all of that, she was still a good person, she just needed help.
Sakura's willpower is one of her strong points, she's good at dealing with character corruption. Sakura did that stuff again in Fate/EXTRA CCC.
