It kind of does desu. When it comes to emulation, it's the engine that matters the most. Tsukihime R was made using Kirikiri on PC and then later it got ported to switch. I'd assume Light did something similar here. They probably made Magatsu Barai using their usual engine on PC and then ported it after the fact since that be the least amount of work for them. So if that process doesn't emulate well for Dies Irae, that's pretty bad news. Of course, it's totally possible they did something totally different for it and maybe it will all work out.

Speaking of chuunishit, I finally got around to finishing Evolimit. I'm turn on it. I enjoyed the beginning of the game and the final route but Kazuna and Lidia's routes were just extremely boring, Kazuna had the saving grace of the calamity monkeys being the main antagonist force but this was at the very end and was proceeded by some boring drama , Lidia's route single handedly put me off of the game for months, granted the bad taste Kazuna's route put in my mouth also probably added to that but I enjoyed Shizuku's route. I didn't like the heroines man but if the route in itself is good enough in a chuuni setting, I can get over it but that just wasn't the case with the first two routes. There was a lot of focus on the drama surrounding the first two heroines who I didn't care for and less focus on the calamity monkeys who were a lot more interesting. The SoL got a bit grating at times and Shiranui can get annoying when he plays the むっつり/ボケ role too often
Ignoring the first two routes, I'd give it a solid 7/10.

1) most SoL scenes doesn't seem to be in service of organically revealing you about characters, their relationships, their mundane charm. Writers just follow some checklist of events and write them without much thought put into characterization or world building. So SoL scene instead become random comedy utilizing one personality quirk of each character in various locations/events with important moments sprinkled here and there with no build up.

2)Most writers seem to forget that SoL is a tool to do something. So now you have characters randomly talking about some random topic for 10 minutes that honestly doesn't add anything to anything(whether towards characterization or carrying this energy to build up something else in the next scene or whatever)

I might still be vague but It's unavoidable unless I write a 20 page essay with concrete examples and detailed critique.

Finished Biniku no Kaori.
This was such a slow fucking burn. It literally forces you to go through the same daily rhythm of MC's life every fucking day. You wake up, brush your teeth, each breakfast, teach otoha, each lunch, move around the house a bit, help kaori, eat dinner, bump into sayu, take a shower, go to your room and hit the sack. You repeat this for several says with minute changes like characters slowly warming up to you and weird shit happening here and there. You know that something is wrong but nothing is revealed until you go for saya's end. But still it feels there's too much buildup everywhere with very little payoff moments in this VN. With that said, I did like sayu's character and her H scenes are really something else. She's really a unique heroine. There are some moments here and there where you can feel like this writer has some really writing talent but overall this was such a weird fucking mixed bag. It totally didn't work as nukige. Literally not a single H scene made me touch my dick but I liked how they were written as normal scenes, especially sayu's scenes which are more about making you understand characters than anything else. So sex as another narrative tool than fap material. But this isn't that much interesting as a scenarioge or charage. So yeah a really weird fucking game.

I did like it at first. It was immersive as fuck. Moving around the house and trying to understand what everyone is doing at a certain time. At some point it became a chore to plod through. It felt like I was just moving here and there with nothing interesting happening anywhere I go. That artist keeps getting worse. Nukitashi had okay looking characters but the colors were too bright and the shading made it look really cheap. Henpri has really ugly bodies and is completely drained of color. The art reminds me of Danganronpa with ugly sameface abominations except Henpri is worse. Pre-Nukitashi eroge and unrelated artwork by that artist I like much more.
