Why would you catch a cold from sleeping under a kotatsu? Isn't it supposed to be warm?

I wish I could sleep under a kotatsu with Ponpo-kun.

I imagine sleeping under a kotatsu would be nice, but I think it's the same kinda thing as sleeping with a heating blanket, you're not supposed to do it.

It's something about the electric waves going through your body and how they could potentially mutate a cell. I guess it's a form of mild radiation.

Well unless you crawled all the way under it you'd have the top half of you sticking out, under the kotatsu it's warm and microbes will thrive while outside it the temperature is colder and reduces your resistances to illness. So you're more likely to get a cold.

This is also why workers in offices with air conditioning in states like California get sick so often, they spend all day in a cold box lowering their resistances and walk around in a warm germ nurturing environment.

I used to sleep in kotatsu sometimes when I was a kid, but I'd turn it off first. I think you're more likely to catch a cold because your lower body will sweat more and it'll become wetter, and the heater isn't on all the time, it turns off from time to time so when it's not on you'll be colder than if there was no extra heat to make you sweat, etc...

Catching a cold from being in a cold place is a fallacy in the first place. VIRUSES DO NOT WORK THAT WAY

Wouldn't you catch a cold from sleeping in bed? Your body is covered, but there are still some limbs exposed to air.
