I was a basement shut in and an ugly fuck. But 3 years ago, something just snapped in me. I decided to do something about it.

It was a very gradual transformation. I was a fat ugly slob. So far starters, I read up on the internet about my hygiene.

I learned how to clean myself so I won't have all these disgusting pimples growing all over my skin and how to actually whiten my teeth.

I started doing a small exercise routine that didn't include any free weights or equipment. I gradually include more sets and more varied exercises.

During that time I went online decided that the only thing I am really good with are computers. I borrowed some money from my sister. Who is the only person in the world who still believed in me. I paid for the A+ Certification and passed that in one go.

I went for the Network+ and passed that.

After I got both certification, I am still not ready for the world. But I really noticed that my exercise routine and better hygiene actually started making me look more....Human. My confidence grew.

I looked for a job over and over 6 months went by fast, but I didn't lose hope. Neither did my sister she still believed in me. I borrowed yet more money and used that money to pay for my Microsoft Certified Professional(MCDST) after one month of earning that.

I got hired immediately by a large insurance firm. One year into the transformation they are now paying me 25$ an hour.

Started out from a basement shut in, to something not so bad.

From my understanding certs are just for show and don't mean anything, but the personal staff of companies does not understand much about CS so they demand something they can relate too. However I doubt you can learn something from such tiny courses. I'm a CS student myself but I wasn't at college for now 2 years (instead I enjoyed a pure hiki life ;_;) and I haven't coded anything in the same timeframe .... grades so far were perfect .... so yeah I should get my ass going again even though I would have to re-read everything as my mem is pretty much clouded from worthless popculture ...
