I'd imagine Mamizou speaking as an older and rural person to convey her dialect in English. Different translators have had different takes on it, but having her speak the same way everyone else does like they do in the official releases just makes it feel like something is missing, you know?

No thanks for being lazy. The entire problem stems from translators getting the idea "this character speaks totally different from everyone else" when it's usually "this character uses 'weird' sentence endings/personal pronoun to sound old/wacky/not from Tokyo" and so they go full on king James with the dialogue "O, how thou causeth me great misery!" when the character is like "you know you really pisseth me off sometimes". You almost never see this autism over character's level of politeness in their speech or most 'normal' pronouns. Like there was autism over Cirno's 'atai', but if she said 'boku' instead there wouldn't have been any issues.

You can have interesting stories without them changing the status quo, by nothing happening I don't mean anything game changing I just mean that if you're gonna end the 1st part with a cliffhanger then it should deliver something more interesting than absolutely nothing. I still read it because it still has value as cute SoL stuff and worldbuilding, which trying to add some sort of conflict into it gets in the way specially since the conflict is meaningless almost every single time.

Somewhat different but I'd rather have more 1 chapter arcs instead because even if they do build up something it ends up being milder, showed what it truly was on the next page or 2, or simply doesn't make you wait a whole month for the follow up. Think WaHH does this a lot, one example I have a notion of is when they were talking about a strange creature and then 2 pages later it showed it was a seal and then they spent the whole chapter doing fun and cute stuff around it.

Actually speaking about being an obnoxious cunt I realized I never liked these mangas not because of the story necessarily but because of how badly written the characters are. The characterz are either built entirely on clichés and tropes or are philosophical arrogant dicks that constantly criticize other characters. It's annoying

I think that the issue for many people is that Mamizou simply feels like very bruteforced character.

She really had no real purpose in a game that introduced her, and then she was given absurd amount of exposure in both mangas and fighter games.

And despite of all of that she is still in the bottom of popularity poll.
