So long, friends.

My monthly check-up-on-/jp/-to-see-if-it-stopped-sucking visit is coming to an end, and as before, I shouldn't have bothered. It's even called "Japan/General" now, for sanitary purposes.

If you're here now and you think /jp/ is funny, you might be right. Perhaps it is funny, but it is but walking shadow, a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, compared to the old /jp/.

What you are seeing today is just an endless looping rehash of the fun we had. If you think it's funny now, try to imagine the fun we had when it was fresh, and people had the time to shop, improve and alter a birthing meme. It was a time of creativity, good quality trolling and the occasional 3:00 AM IMOUTO TIME discussion. Good times.

Feeling like Milton's Satan reminiscing about the splendor of heaven where he once dwelt, comparing everything to that glory now lost and unable to see his surroundings for what they are, but only what they are in comparison, I bid you adieu. See you next month, and keep on trying.

Obviously, I will stick around for the remainder of this thread. If you remember the old ways as well but are stuck in here because the internet is basically pretty empty, bland, and boring outside of /jp/, feel free to drop in and describe your pet theory about where and when /jp/ went wrong.

So true.

>> No.3762653

I enjoyed /jp/ more before. I barely browse 4chan at all these days. But I'm not completely sure whether it's because I've gotten too used to what I used to enjoy, or whether /jp/ really is more boring.

In the end, it shouldn't matter, because I'm not losing much by being forced to do something more productive, but I feel a little regret realizing that for one reason or another, I won't really get the same feeling as I used to. Particularly now that Christmas is near, and my memories of spending the majority of last Christmas with you guys, I miss that, and I'm in a constant state of worry that I won't be able to make it a memorable Christmas this year.

The only good wall breaking thread was the one where someone posted Jack Daniels outside of /co/ and made Iron Man appear to have broken through the boards to get it.

Truth. There wasn't any recipe for success, like a high amount of original content or creativity, we just somehow managed to have fun, somehow, before everything turned mundane.

this wall

when the population was not as big as today everything we liked was in /a/
can you believe that?

>> No.3762730

That's a nice speech, OP, but when was /jp/ ever any good at all? Sure, it's become worse now what with people coming in from /a/ lately and probably /b/ and God knows where else, but it's not like we didn't see that coming. This is still one of the few boards where I can talk about some of the subjects I like while mentally filtering out the retards, so until /jp/ turns into the new /b/ I'll still come here.

This is the truth you guys have to accept, everything he said has valid points. Do you guys still remember GensokyoMan? I bet half of /jp/ doesn't.
