I'd say the quality is about the same between the two. Mahoyo's character themes are all gorgeous and it also has those intense epic tracks too. But the remake has quantity over it (of course) and also more variety. There a lot more tracks that invoke different moves (quieter stuff, happy themes, goofy stuff, etc.) and even some random curveballs thrown in there like the fucking Arach theme or that one schizo sounding song when Shiki is losing it.

Firstly, Mahoyo is out of the question.
Saya can get down to whether you can appreciate it or not, but Saya's OST for what the game itself is, is completely genius, perfectly representing Fuminori's state of mind and general atmosphere, while TsukiRe, although good, is pretty generic.
FMDM can get down to tastes I guess, but 陵辱 is probably the goat of VN's for me, and they are very atmospheric.

If you like Mahoyo and Tsuki R's music, I highly suggest giving a listen to Fukasawa's score to the UBW anime, especially with the recently expanded release made for it. Personally, I think it's the guy's best work. Very, very underrated, and still tons of tracks not officially on album.

I really like the remake's OST but I still prefer Mahoyo's (which is probably my favourite game soundtrack).
Mahoyo has the benefit of a few other artists besides Fukasawa contributing like Kate and James Harris. It was disappointing to see how little Kate contributed after hearing he'd be involved. Supposedly he was busy with FGO.

I had downloaded as many Type-Moon sound tracks as I could, from all games and properties, which ended up being almost 1000.
I then went and classified them into different categories. The 'spooky' category ended up being holding somewhere around 200 tracks, and it is 5 hours long.
Maybe I should make and upload on YouTube something like a Type-Moon Dark Ambient Mix, titled "music for magi who are plotting in the dark on how to reach the path to the Root through nefarious means". But who would even watch something like that, hah.

Most of those remind me of Korean MMORPGs: they often start with reasonable and realistic designs, but as they age, all weapons become shining and stupidly oversized, and everyone is like peacock. And of course now it infested my used-to-be dripless Tsuki. Mine would probably be when he encounters ROA/SHIKI outside the mansion. The quiet dread before ROA appears right next to him and the lights go out followed by the epic blind knife clashes. Going unconscious mid fight to have flashbacks to the garden before snapping out of it and having his body unconsciously responding to the assault. Then him going ham and driving Roa into the corner as Nanaya starts to come out was some fabulous sauce.

The video is actually 6 hours and 30 minutes long. It could have been longer but eh.
I've been rendering it for nearly as long.
And now I am trying to upload it to YouTube as a test, and it probably will take just as long.
I've got absolutely no idea on how video editing works, so I just used the default options, which is probably why it takes so long and weighs a hearty 34 GB.
I'll probably change a few of the pictures I've used in my test run, so I'll have to re-render it all over again. If anyone has any advice on how to improve this process, please tell me.

As a defender of the first two movies for being decent movies while being bad adaptations it was bad. I don’t know how the Angra exposition scene happened since it’s fucking terrible. Why are there stills in a movie like this with weird shots of stills of different people with no movement? Why even add this scene when it doesn’t matter to the characters in the movie?
