In defense of the manga, it all serves the purpose of fleshing out (hahaha) Rin's development as a character. Lemme copy&paste something I wrote somewhere else:

Before the masturbation scene, the story was about a silly little girl making advances on an adult that she has a crush on, using words and techniques she probably learned from some doujin or manga she picked up, but not really understanding what any of it means other than that adults do it and it makes her teacher blush when she says/does them.

But when she started masturbating, she finally figured out what all those things mean, she figured out why adults did those things. In that case, my point still stands that they serve as ways to show character development, but I will concede that the author might be throwing a bone to the lolicons that she knows are reading her work.
