I like where this is headed.

This game kinda sucked. It jumped into the H-Scenes way to quickly for my tastes. I guess if you don't really care about a story line that is fine, but to be honest I didn't particularly read KnJ to see Kokonoe get porked.

You don't recognize KnJ?

People read KnJ for the massive teasing and to never see Rin get porked.

I read it because I think it has an interesting story

Actually I kind of like the hints at character development in the first one or two volumes. Aoki seemed genuinely concerned about Kokonoe and really all of the characters appeared to have some avenue where they could change for the better. But no, that would just be too convenient, instead all of the characters degenerate until I couldn't take it anymore and I was forced to drop the series. I guess redemption doesn't sell anymore or something.

I haven't read it, but it sounds like a manga version of Lolita only bad.

That is pretty much it.

Kidnap Company is an awesome name for a group.

Sure, if all you know about Lolita is that it involves pedophilia.

I think any story with romance is based on Romeo and Juliet.

I have some bad news for you, she was a ridiculous whore.

Pretty much no, kojika has a lot more romance. And it's even mutual.

One of my teachers in high school thought all stories were based on the Bible.

I never got around to asking him the obvious questions, like "Even the Epic of Gilgamesh?"

For just a moment compare Reiji to Humbert Humbert. Notice any similarities in the situation? Notice any common themes? I am not saying they are word for word identical, or all that alike, and the point of view and approaches are definitely different, but there are definite parallels. No it is not literally the manga version of Lolita, but I don't think that is what was meant by the phrase "a manga version of Lolita only bad". You can be a literalistic cunt about it, but you really can't blame people for comparing the two.

>>3711478
She was, but it was still a good book. I liked the bit where Humbert is all relieved that he's not the one who "corrupted" Lolita. Tell it to the judge.

But >>3711436 said they haven't read it, so they don't know about Reiji. So yeah.

I can't blame people for prejudging? What the hell.

Her flawed nature was one of the things that lent power to this book. It made things just a tad more believable. Lolita is one of the few books that I simply could not finish because I just couldn't stomach it. It joins "Last Exit to Brooklyn" by Hubert Selby Jr. as one of the few books to have that honor. Lolita far from one of the best books I have ever read, but it definitely had more of an impact on me than most (even if I couldn't bring myself to finish it).

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I am not defending the parent post which made the comparison to Lolita. I am replying to the post that states that Lolita and KnJ are not comparable.

I was referring to the whole "middle-aged man/young girl relationship with a serious story" if it was approached by people who were just concerned with getting readers off. So yeah, it was probably a shitty comparison.

To be honest, I read KnJ for the plot and character development. I'm curious as to how the series will end, how Rin grows up, whether Kuro will get over her 'crush', and especially how the author deals Reiji, which I personally hope won't end with simply throwing him in jail, but have him at least realize that he's a sick fuck. He's getting there, with what Mimi said about not wanting to be a mom, but he's still far off.

It'll never be fully translated.
