Emulators not working for me...

What exactly do others use to play this emulated, if they do indeed play emulated? Last year I played jp emulated for quite a while, but then had to move to my phone because emulation broke (for everyone at the time). I hear it works now, but like, on what? Because both Bluestacks and Memu with default settings lead to it crashing about a minute after booting, no matter what. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app didn't work in either case

The last bad character the jap version had was Junko. Cyber Reimu is weak for a SFES character but still strong enough to get around. Ever since Junko all characters have at least been decent. They have also not released a new tank in a very long time because they probably know that people just brute force their way through the tower at this point.

Eh, they arent bad compared to other games.

Tips? reroll until you have Youmu and medicine, and additionally Ran.
Grind your units to high level, but dont upgrade them with the blue tokens. It´ll take more stamina and to this day on global it isnt mandatory yet.
Dont upgrade your Coin-factory. You´ll always have more coins than the max limit thaks to the many events that are happening.

To get a new unit for sure, you need a spark. that is, enough currency to roll for a character 150 times, or for a Super Limited units (Super FES) 250 times.
Normal spark: 750 Cubes, 225k Coins
SuperFES Spark: 1250 Cubes, 375k Coins

You can get 20-30 cubes a day simply with errands and dailys.
The daily Roll you should do will give you back the exact mats you used, so you better use a Guaranteed Friend Ritual or Story Card ritual instead. Dont roll more than that daily. Waste of currency.

Do the daily stages (lots of exp)
Then do normal stages, or currently, advance through the event. Every stage gives you mats and cubes via "Tasks"

To level up your units, use the single-wave boss stages of the event. Reisen, Aya, Marisa. Depending on what units you have, grind them over and over and over and over. Base-Max level of your units is 70.

To give them more Spellcards, eg Super Attacks, you need either dupes/Copys you can Sacrifice to strenghten them, or Paperdolls.
You need 4 Paperdolls/dupes to Max Limit Break (MLB) a Unit. That´ll make her go up to level 100, and unlocks her Last Word (LW). This is a super-attack that is insanely strong, and mostly its just (Boss stage - LW use - Boss dead - repeat) all over again. The usual grind.

Spellcards, attacks and LW´s are either Single Target, or target All enemies.

The Units, Characters, 2Hu´s whatever you want to call them, are seperated into different categories.

The normal units are in the Regular Unit-pool, you can always get them while rolling for new units. that pool will be updated every few months.

The Festival Units are stronger, like Yukari, Yuyuko and so on. Those are only available through their Banners. Watch out for neccesary units.

Super Festival units are the strongest. Those are hard to get by, are rare and can only be upgraded with the "Divine Paper dolls" (Rainbow dolls) that are rare and hard to get. You either focus on one unit or you have to cash in. sadly.


The School is easy to use. Put units in there to level up over time. You have to provide "Food" to increase the duration of the leveling. its mostly self explanatory.
Units have "Motivation" (The golden stars beyond their picture) In school the motivation can go up to 2 stars, meaning that unit will gain 10% more exp for a set amount of stages.
Put your main units in there.
Full motivation lasts for 75 runs and takes 4hours to be fully replenished in school.

In the dojo you can level the skills of your units. Those are buffs like attack up, evasion up and so on. Dont use the golden books on that. You need those later to upgrade your units and give them more skills. (the ones i mentioned are the ones with (3) at the end of their names. the books with X at the end, the thicc ones, are safe to use.

The rarest scrolls are Dragon and Tiger scrolls, you´ll need them lots.

There are 2 types of shops ingame. the Real Money shop by Nitori, and if you go there, theres the shrine office (Button left down corner) where you can get cubes and stuff with ingame currency. I go there every 8 hours for 1-2 cubes.
Dont spend more than that in there. Cubes, Dragon and Tiger scrolls should be the only thing you buy there.

Story Cards:
You get them mostly via events and normal rolling. They are used to equip your units spellcards. They give either some stats to said unit, or add an on-use effect to the spellcard they´re equiped at.
You can MLB them too, by sacrificing dupes/copys of them.
For the beginning though, just keep the 5 and 4 star, and "Part ways" with all 3 and 4 you have more than 2-3 copys of. that´ll give you the blue tokens you need for the shop, or enhancing your units (a little buff for the stats while increasing the stamina cost)

A lot of the early characters were shit because the devs completely misjudged how the game would actually be played. The global version never saw the horrors that were the original versions of Reimu, Kasen and Yukari. All that random focus on nonsense defense buffs and weird hybrid skill sets that are good at nothing. The only characters they truly nailed right away for long term use were Medicine and Youmu. Patchouli's LW is still so bad, Marisa gets outclassed by herself twice, no one cared when designing Sakuya and even the devs forgot that Nitori is an actual playable character for over a year.

A short and not so accurate summary would be:
Half of the stuffs are similar to Azur Lane. We got errand (commission) for free stuffs mostly used to farm green cubes to roll, school (dorm) for passive leveling and morale restore, training room for skill leveling up, spirit energy (fuel) and coin but combat is different.
It's similar to most of the 3 vs 3 games (Enemy count isn't always 3 sometimes 2 or just 1 can appear.)
Everyone got their spellcards 2-2 regular and one Lost Word the most powerful one, but it discards all of the unused regular spellcards too.
SC can be also equipped with Story cards, this is the usual craft essence/equipment system other game has. Practically giving plus stats and extra effect or more to the story cards. Most of it comes from the gacha but main quests and events also give out such cards.

I would split the jap version into 3 eras in terms of character strength. There are the early days of the game in which most of the characters were garbage. Damage is low, elemental coverage is bad and many skill sets are a weird mix of things that are not good for any specific roles. Even many of the new banner characters were not good at all with a few exceptions like Remilia or Yuyuko. Then the devs released Toyohime who was the first character who was leagues better than everyone else. Even her attack stat was much higher at 1500. At this point the quality of characters generally goes up and you almost never have any real trash characters again. Debuffers also make their big impact. Only a select few of the starting characters see any use anymore at this point, mostly Medicine and Youmu. The first 3 SFES are also released in that time. Then you have the current era which started when they released the 6 SFES Mech 2hus. Now every new character is viable and old strong characters like Yuyuko are used in damage calculations to show how much better the new generation is. New gameplay mechanics are here and some characters have kits that are so good that they can solo content that at one point required 2 or 3 characters.
