It's kind of a half-assed adaptation of the manga Take Moon in general, heavily influenced by the director's (Seiji Kishi, AKA the hack behind Galaxy Angel Rune and the Danganronpa/Persona animes) personal preferences. On one hand, he's a huge Lancerfag, so you got an entire anime-original South Park-inspired subplot for Lancer, but he phoned in the Tsukihime segments with skits literally looping over and over with minor differences to fill out time because he didn't care for Tsukihime, and outright sabotaged Sakura out of spite. Incredibly overrated by secondary newfags, to be honest.

My theory regarding her is that she is judging Shiki, to see if he is good or bad.
If she is the panther then (iirc) she'll end up killing him at the rapey Arc bad end.
In the profile it says that her natural enemy is Kiri Nanaya, so she must hate the Nanayas, and she prob knows that Shiki might be one.
But I do wonder, maybe there's another twist to her, I remember reading some japs say that she might be Shiki's sister from the Nanayas, that would be interesting.

In Ciel's True end the conversation with Nanaya is more or less the same apart from the bit where Nanaya says the only thing he has that Tohno doesn't is his memory of playing with a cat in his garden which sounds like it could be Mio. I also think it's suspicious that her name is just 'Mio' in the material book which makes me doubt her last name.
Some people have also suggested that the little sister Shiki says visited him in hospital is actually Mio because if it was Akiha it would contradict him not having seen her since before the accident.
On the other hand, from a meta point of view, giving Shiki another little sister in the remake seems kind of unlikely.

In the scene where they first meet for the first time in 7 years I think something like that is suggested, but it's vague. The hospital scene where Shiki describes the people who came to see him is almost immediately contradicted by his own narration where he claims *no one* visited him. I'm pretty sure the hospital scene is full of important shit if you read it carefully.
As for the 'little sister' the text is: お見舞いに来た怖い背広姿のオトナも、そのオトナに叱られながら来てくれた妹の姿も and reading it again I think Nasu is trying to trick us in to thinking it's Akiha when really the 妹 refers not to Shiki's own sister, but to the 妹 of the 背広姿のオトナ who is probably Gouto.

I’m almost certain we’ll get to see Zelretch in her true route. Aside from Arc and Shiki’s similarities (Their own bloodlust, the hime vs nanaya personality phenomenon etc), they also happen to encounter magicians who are bearers of the true magic. Zelretch taught young Arc that you can find happiness with life while Aoko taught Shiki the importance of life. I can imagine Nasu somehow letting these two meet Zelretch and Aoko again like what he did with the epilogue. Actually, maybe Zelretch is the one showing these parallel timelines/worlds to Arc hence the weird dream sequences in the prologue.
