Omachi and Senhime just beat Yamagata and a 5 other people in the Takeda blitz by themselves. Feels good man. Especially since I'm only on like Turn 20 and their using 1 thousand and more units while the biggest Unit I have is like 755.

About to declare war on takeda to get their family bonus, any tips on how to defend against the blitz and capture them later on? This is my third game, and I'm on the kill the monkey route. I already got 128 points on my second game, so for now i don't care how long it takes.

Quick question, if I'm racking up points, should I do Ran Route and then rush it?
How do I make it end quicker?

Also, is it better to raise stats and levels or to get more troops?

Get the -100 armor and +100 sword. They're godly for the first 20 turns or so and will let units solo battles if you want. The extra Monk is also an excellent choice. The popularity Staff is also a good item standby. I'm also not a huge fan of Rance's Love either. It does power a unit up a lot, but most decent units only need one or two upgrades and it's still just useful for the one unit. The healing items and money statues are also good pickups that'll be useful the entire game.

Maeda Keiji is fucking good, but 2 SAT bonuses are a bit much

If you have under 50 points, then 1 star Ran route's generally the best way to go. Rush east through the youkai/hannies and take Hojo ASAP and then work on your Sat and recruiting easy-to-clear units while waiting for the end game. Once you're near/at the endgame, splurge those Sat bonuses on affection upgrades and clear everybody you can.

In the next Rance there should be a gender swap temple that makes a clone of you and then swaps IT'S gender.

So Rance could rape Rance-ko.

For Ran route and points, raise levels. Ignore stats and troops for the most part. You don't need many to fight the ogres and the last battle is just dungeons. Sekimei's pretty easy though, so as long as you have a few strong units like Uruza and Kenshin, you shouldn't have any problems.

Largely depends on whether or not you have a 20-point house bonus yet (not counting Gekkou and Shizuka). If you do, proceed with Ran's route, as you'll be out of points and unable to purchase Kill the Monkey option.

If you don't, I'd say that the number of points you get between the two routes will be roughly the same, as Ran's route relies more on completing it quickly than it does doing the Objectives and Carnivals. However, since the Monkey route can only be completed by complete conquest of JAPAN, Objectives and Carnivals give you at least an additional 42 turns (4 Carnivals + 30k Troops + Defeat Youkai King + 6 Great Treasures; if you manage to do the H 300 women, you have 52 additional turns) for purposes of getting house bonuses and equal amount of points possible from the Ran route.

Then I'd suggest reloading each battle until you capture the foot soldier raccoon dog so that you can recruit Ieyasu. The reason for this is that you don't have to bother with capturing the other raccoon dogs once Ieyasu is one of your commanders, as they will auto-join every turn until all of them are yours.

Even ignoring that nice benefit, Ieyasu is better than Senhime in terms of points as he is easier to clear (just get to 7/7 normal I believe and talk to him, just like the other raccoon dogs) and can get End-Game Points. Then there's the whole being more practical a unit for dungeons than Senhime from the get-go

You can not recruit Ieyasu if you haven't recruited and talked to the foot soldier raccoon dog to learn of Ieyasu' love for tempura before the last fight in the Tokugawa territory. Reload back to when you had conquered their first two provinces so that the raccoon dogs show up and check to see if he gets fielded or not after a few tries. Failing that, if you are out of actions before being able to conquer the last province, keep reloading your end of turn and hope that Tokugawa fields the foot soldier raccoon dog in battle against you so that you may capture him, or just let them take back a province so that you can reload the battle for their 3rd province until the foot soldier is captured.

Having a 9 in defense doesn't make you immune to damage like the Guts armor does, nor does having a 9 in attack allow you to deal as much damage as the +100 sword if you have a low troop count.

For the early game, the Guts Armor and +100 Damage sword trump +2 Attack/Defense items. The +2 Int/Speed items are still pretty useful if you have a foot soldier with low int (for guarding)/want to increase a diviner's or mage's attack (uses int rather than attack), or just need to speed up a unit to act faster/shorten prep time, respectively.

Eh, Elina is only a powerhouse in the early game. After about 30 turns or so, her damage just isn't that impressive anymore, which isn't helped by how damn slow her prep is (can not be sped up; must wait 1 full turn for all units)

Still, she is a generic so it can be difficult to boost her affection to clear her. However, I'd save it for a different commander.

i managed to capture the 3 commanders in less than 20 turns today, IT was by sheer luck I guess. I was at war with one eyed, uesugi and houjou (monkey route, started with uesugi & one eyed bonus)

Houjou recruited all three of them, They only showed up when I attacked their provinces (and not in the special/final battles of one)
Watch the recruit screen every turn and good luck defeating those monsters, Their troop sizes are just sadistic.

Well, there is a trick if you have none of those things. It's called capturing all the other youkai in battle before the last fight.

Another option is having one or more diviner - for instance, one of the mino three - using Guard Shikigami on your foot soldier. I'd still recommend at least two, but if you have that much and are lucky, they'll waste their strong attacks on your shikigami.

Talk to Ryouma. Each time you do so, another commander can be recruited (believe the order is Gon->one arm girl whose name I'm forgetting->Mine). However, rather than wasting an action flag, you can just wait for the start of turn event as it has one of the higher priorities in the game.

Kenshin's route is the easiest to get them due to it having the fewest start-of-turn events. Isoroku's route is a bitch to get them.

Any tips on how to get the last Takeda General (the Ninja) to come into battle? Their are only three houses I have yet to conquer (Takuga, Shimazu, and One Eyed) and one is impossible for him to be in (One Eyed) and I am getting worried I might not be able to get him to come out. I am sure he is in Takuga but they with their 6k Units on 1 Star are quite annoying and I keep having to win battles when I'm merely trying to take out their Commanders.

I got a question about Orochi dungeon. When you choose to fight Orochi do all the actions get reset for the fight from your heroes?

I decided not to fight because I wasn't sure if my actions reset or not. Plus what has pissed me off is I decided to run away from the dungeon and now I can't fight Orochi without going back to that earlier save and slogging through 20 levels again... fuck.

If you lose the fight do you get another chance to fight again? Or do I have to reload and go through the dungeon bullshit again?

Does the Shimazu House under Agireda's leadership hire Commanders? Because, I have been slaughtering their Commanders and I haven't seen a new one appear in a while.

So I started Free for all route a while ago with my delicious waifu Ryouma. But I have a question. What does building barriers do for me? Does it lower my chance of being invaded? Because fighting off 2-4 enemy invasions per turn is a little rough and Im starting to not be able to afford my battle costs. Also, any other tips worth knowing?
