This is fine if you never use subs but I watch like 50/50 with/without Japanese subs. When you download something with Japanese audio, no Japanese subtitles, and English subtitles though even if you don't specify English as an slang, it'll still default to displaying them. a 360 controller is just another form of input - I use the right analogue stick as the mouse. Literally all I have to do is pick the files in my playlist I want to watch, which 90% of the time is just increment episodes number by 1, switch to my TV output, and then just press a macro key on my keyboard that loads the playlist into MPV.
