I drew her index and middle fingers together slightly outstretched to hold a charm between them (initially tried to avoid a gripping position like you pointed out, but fucked up anyway). It could still work--I think I've just angled the charm too high.

This is how I picture our meido-san. She's not evil nor shits up the place on purpose, she's just clumsy/retarded moe, but still tries her best to clean this place to the best of her abilities (when she's not dozing off, which is 90% of the time).

For me the best thing one can do as beginner artist is to find a small supportive art circle who fits to your visual taste. Even if they have low standard, and full of faggotry circlejerking like deviantart or gaia or lj. As long as you can stay motivated and produce a high amount of artwork, practice, and trashes for few months/years you're on the right track.

Until the day you're ready to break from that shell and tackle art from other angles (formal rules, objective criticism, fixed drawing style, life drawing, per-project basis etc).

At least that's my route.

On Pixiv actually very few people comment on each other's works, even on very popular pieces.

It's pretty easy to keep a low profile on DA if you don't act like a fag thanking people who favorite your stuff and pimp it on other people's works. I have been on DA for four years and I barely surpassed 1 thousand pageviews (even Currybutt has more pageviews than me, and he's been seen talking shit about it here several times).
